Why a Clooney apearance would be just what the Dr. ordered

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

I think that a Doug Ross appearance would work for NBC really well and it would be nuts of them not to have him on. Imagine what would happen if Clooney showed up by surprise on the 2nd to the last episode for JM's departure. That would really boost their viewership for the finale. With the Millionaire "competition" (if you go for that kind of thing) I think it would be crazy for NBC to pull any punches.

George Clooney will not appear. I bet my new bracelet on it. I don't mean to sound like a jerk here, but do not get your hopes up. He isn't coming back at all. Because:

1) NBC is a network. A big network. It wants ratings and I know it ain't the FOX network but it still wants ratings. If George Clooney was coming, then the trailers would be full of 'surprise visitor' and ' Carol's two men come face to face'/ 2) The second George Clooney came into contact with anyone from ER, the phones would have been lighting up. It would have been leaked.

Sorry, I think I am sounding like a jerk here. I don't mean to. I just don't want you to get your hopes up for nothing. BTW - by this post I'm not saying I don't want a GC return. It's just that I know he won't.

Don't worry, you don't sound like a jerk to me, because I am one of the only people who could not care less if Carol and Doug get together again, I am just interested in what is up in the heads of TPTB!

Never actually liked Carol that much, and I guess I did like Doug, but for crying out loud:

CAROL LOVES BOUG. DOUG LOVES CAROL.

How hard is it for TPTB to accept that. Personally when Carol leaves, I'll be breathing a sigh of relief. I don't freaking care about her anymore. And as for this Carol/Luka thing. Dear TPTB, stop freaking stalling. Bundle Carol off to Seattle. Everyone lives happily ever after. We move on. I feel kinda sad writing this cause I want to feel sorry for Carol but I don't like the 'letsshowinadougreferencerealfastandmaybetheywillnotnotice' attitude to this season. But then, I shouldn't doubt the writers. Hell, they made me feel sorry for Lucy. Which was a huge achievement.

Thank you for not thinking I am a jerk.

E Online says that their source INSISTS that George Clooney will make a surprise appearance to see Julianna Margulies off. Of course they also say it'll be on the season finale, May 18th. So maybe their not good with dates.

Sometimes I'm so surprised by the stupid typos I make on here: the above should have said: So maybe they're not good with dates! AAARRRGGGHHH! Hope the information was encouraging at least. I'm to the point that I'd almost put money on him showing on the 11th, just for a scene or two at least. :)

You know what I've noticed about E! Online? Their information is always semi-accurate. They said Lucy and Carter would be shot, they were stabbed. So maybe they are bad with dates...;-)

Anyhow, one would THINK that TPTB would want to give proper closure to a very popular character and a very popular storyline.

This may sound stupid...but is there such a thing that these tabloids and other who make predictions on these shows could get sued or something if they give away 100% of what is going to happen? It just always seems that they are always partly right but never 100%.

I'm not ALL for Doug and Carol getting back together, but I still see the possibility of Clooney making an appearance. Reason is that NBC has completely surprised me recently. When Kellie Martin decided she was leaving, they shouted out she was leaving so we were expecting SOMETHING to happen. Same with Julianna. Maybe they decided that don't want to shout out this piece of news. Hey, it's probably just my wishfull thinking.

A friend of mine was watching Entertainment Tonight earlier this week. They said George Clooney INSISTS he is not making an appearence. Regardless, I still think he will.

I think if I were NBC and TPTB I'd keep it quiet either way too. People are going to watch to see JM leave and there's a second reason this way too: will he or won't he. It just gives the epi where she leaves more mystery, alure.

Actually I think all the "Insisting" by GC And NBC execs are a white flag.

GC keeps saying that the producers haven't contacted him. He's probably not lying. The producers would have to go through his agent.

Just think what a nice surprise it would be if at the end of the season he appears (just briefly). Just like the "accident" on Carter & Lucy was a surprise to alot of people, Mark's attack, GC & JM's little porch kiss.

My sister swears that the Entertainment Tonight interview a few days ago was filmed on the ER set. She said he's going to be in the final epi. - I didn't see it and don't know, but if it's true, it's pretty hard to beleive that he's not going to make an appearance.
