Epson 1270 or HP Deskjet 1220Cse???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I'm taking the plunge into digital. Have just bought a Coolpix 990 and am looking for a wide carriage inkjet printer. I've heard great things about the Epson 1270 but wonder how it compares with the new HP 1220Cse with its higher resolution and other tricks? Would much appreciate any guidance or experience to help me make the decision. Thanks.

No comparison, the 1220 has a three colour ink system that won't match the epson 5 colour ink plus black. Check out this site (www.luminous-landscape.com) re the output from epson 1200 printer keeping in mind that the output from the 1270 is better in all respects along with delivering the longest lasting prints of all desktop inkjet printers.

I have wondered the same thing. I have heard if you do a lot of Postscript you are better off with the HP. The Epson is not set up for it unless you but additional software. Anyone else heard this?
