Does anyone think that Carter is going to have some role in Samatha and her baby's life?

I don't know. I kind of wondered if she will come to County to deliver her baby. Talk about flashbacks! Poor Carter would definitely be having some then. I thought that the scene with Carter and Samantha was interesting, and I hope that they will follow up on it next week. I wonder if his being a "whirling dervish" next week will have anything to do with him trying to block out all of the painful memories he has been suffering from lately? Maybe he will throw himself into his work to try to keep from having time to remember. Anyway, it should be interesting.

When she said she was pregnant in "The Fastest Year," I yelled: See, we were right! :)

Would be an interesting storyline if Carter gets involved with Samantha and the baby. Caught one little boo-boo during their conversation. Samantha says that they've taken Paul to Chester (Mental Health Correctional Facility), but that facility has been closed and all psychiatric criminals go to the Dixon Correctional Center. Only reason I caught it is that I'm from Southern Illinois near Chester and my husband works for IL Dept. of Correct

I was just relieved they showed Carter's concern over what was happening to him. Do you think he will ever confront him? He doesn't seem to be mad at them, he understands he's sick, but it would be *very* interesting, and a powerful scene for Carter.

Yay, Diana! You remembered! I posted a thread asking if Samantha could be pregnant not long after "All in the Family" aired and you were the only one who answered. Then we were relegated to the realm of "Uninteresting Threads" or something like that. Isn't it nice to know the hunch (based on a rather distended coat front) was correct? Woohoo!

Tami, maybe Paul is going to escape from "Chester" and they did not want any repurcussions with Dixon......just a thought.

I totally think that she is going to be involved in future episodes. Why else bring her back on for like 5 seconds?? It will be interesting to see what happens and how she and Carter will be involved. She's not blonde, but who knows?! =)

Forgive me for my medical ignorance, but is Paul's condition something that could be genetic, and the baby inherit?

I know this was discussed some threads back, but what exactly is a whirling dervish?

Felicity, yes, schizophrenia can very much be inherited (the chemical/neurotransmitter abnormalty can be in the genes) and that is immediately what I thought of when she mentioned she was pregnant. I was wondering if Carter was thinking about that too, since he would know it could be inherited.
