My son and husband gave me a CoolPix for Christmas 1998. I have been been happy with the quality of the pictures, including capturing swans on the move. My question is this. - At the beginning of April the camera's motor started running constantly and I could not take any more pictures. I had to send this camera to New York to be fixed. Today (after 3 weeks) they said that the lens unit and the circuit board had to be replaced. It seems to me that when you pay close to a $1000.00 for a camera this should not be happening in the matter of 15 months. Is this unusual or is this a problem with digital cameras?
