Title: Talks at Wagah Hit by Power Breakdown By Our Staff Reporter

THE DAWN,PAKISTAN

LAHORE, April 26: A power breakdown in border areas on Wednesday morning adversely affected the meeting between Pakistan and Indian railway teams held in the conference room of the Pakistan Rangers at Wagah border.

There was no electricity in the Wagah area when the Pakistan railway team reached the Rangers offices for talks. However, the meeting started on schedule. Pakistan railway authorities had not made any arrangement for electricity generator for such an important meeting.

By the time, the railway official succeeded in installing a generator, the first session was already over. The process of finalizing meeting minutes and preparation of draft agreement could be started only after the restoration of power supply at about 10:45am.

The head-to-head exchange of parcels of Afghan Transit Trade continued throughout the meeting. Mediamen who had gathered on both sides of the zero line to cover the event watched the transportation process with great interest.
