Frankie Foreigner in the EPL

Did anyone see the program with Alan Hansen running the rule over some of the imports in the league. De Canny lad came across very well, a true professional by all accounts, his team-mates reckon his attitude encourages the younger players like Joe Cole.

King Kev said that it is difficult to acheive the balance of English/Foreign players when the imports are so much cheaper and he fears for the future of the national side.
Is it possible to restrict the amount of European players in a team, I would have thought that went against the grain with the EC. Chelsea would be right up the top of shit street if it happened.

There's a possibility the First Division might get better and better.

You know, that thing about English youngsters not getting into PL teams got me thinking. If they have the potential but are outpriced by imports, why isn't the Football League a better place already???

As for limiting the number of Johnnies, I'd have thought it was fine to limit the number of players in a game but not employed by the club. But I'll bow to superior legal knowledge (or even Dougal).
