Senator Trent Lott, Majority Leader, said today that he will introduce legislation that forbids Federal agents - FBI, US Marshalls, ATM agents - from carrying firearms.

Lott said "I was horrified at the show of force in the Elian kidnapping. My legislation will forbid all Federal agents from carrying any weapons at all.

"After at least two Federal agents have been killed in a given incident, they may carry pellet guns. But that's it.

"God bless Great Uncle Lazaro and the babe cousin."
