Domi leaving?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Living in Paris I also follow Paris-St.Germain, and lately a PSG list I subscribe to has been rife with rumors of Domi returning to PSG. While here on this BBS there was some general thoughts on Domi leaving, I don't remeber seeing this particular rumor (or maybe I've just seen it so much on the PSG list I'm confused)(I also checked the archives, didn't see anything about Domi to PSG). Anyone else hear this? While I didn't see any concrete sources, the PSG supporters seem to think there's pretty good chances of it happening.

I haven't seen anything to this effect but that's nothing spectacular ;)

Couldn't this just be a case of fans wanting back an ex-player who's playing reasonably well abroad....PSG have been down on their luck a little for the last few seasons so they could be like us and ready to grasp at straws ;)

Uh, this season they're doing alright, in 3rd place chasing a Champion's League spot, although they did get beat last Saturday by Division2 Gueugnon in the League Cup final :-( ( French cups have been a haven for giant killers this year!)

Supporters aren't so much grasping for straws as "who do we need to get in order to do well in CL next year"

My mistake...I just haven't heard them mentioned much this year :)) or for quite a few years actually....

Can't remember how much we paid and I hope he stays. However, I think 3.5 - 4 mil. Any takers.

Hey Brad. How are St.Etienne going these days ?? I've always had a soft spot for them (or at least the name) :

(a) cos me brother always used to make me be them in the great Subbuteo european tournaments of the early 70s, and (b) cos I didn't half used to fancy Sarah Cracknell, lead singer/wet dream creater from the pop group of the same name.

Not that anyone else cares ..... !!

Liverpool are now reportedly tracking Lizarazu the French left back. they may have given up on Domi now!

I think there is a possibility that Robson may use Domi AND Pistone with Pistone forming a three man central defence. He is quick enough and tall enough. Domi as left wing back with Solano/Gavilan on the right. Central three would be Lee/Bassedas, Speed and Dyer. When we have the ball Domi and Solano act as right wingers to form a four man midfield, whilst Dyer pushes forward to assist the two forwards.

When we're not in possession the WB's revert to full backs in a five man defence with Speed and Lee/Bassedas protecting the back five, with Kieron looking to break forward if we get possession or Shearer holds it up.

As you can teel I am pretty bored and there is not much activity on here today, hence the ramblings.

Nice idea De Builder, however I think it might be a Speed/Bassedes choice as both are left footed and Lee was the better of the two over the year.

Loony Toon's internet research - reported on another thread - suggests Badedas is only 5' 8", fairly slight, but mobile and skilful. He's described in Spanish as the 'steering wheel' of the Velaz team - presumably the m/f general.
Mmhhh - another General? Replacement for the current General, perhaps?
From the description he sounds like a YKD clone. That can't be all bad, but we haven't really found the ideal role for YKD1, so I only hope we don't have a similar issue with YKD2.

How tall and heavy was Batty? Sometimes stats can be misleading. ie is he an aggressive, fast terrier like player, or a flouncy, skilful type who avoids the physical side.

Valencia are the latest Club rumoured to be interested in acquiring Didier Domi - at least according to todays Ronnie.

Latest quote attributable to DD, in response to FF saying he's not for sale - ""If the manager sees the money on the table he will let me leave."
