Under typical Lancashire leaden skies Gary Hamilton scored for the home side after 5 minutes and Ryan Baldacchino extended the lead after 23 minutes. Diego Gavilan missed a 41st minute penalty after Fumaca had been generously awarded a spot-kick - the keeper challenging the Brazilian as he ran away from the goal.

Hamilton ended the contest with his second after 64 minutes as Blackburn threatened to grab a sackful. Charvet injured his left knee and was replaced by Harris. The third reserve debutant, Kevin Dixon (Walker and Harris the other two), replaced Diego Gavilan in the second half. Pistone was booked after 10 minutes but lasted the full 90 minutes and Marcelino didn't appear, despite being named as our no.5. Steve Clarke was in charge with no sign of Tommy Craig and Bobby also attended.

I was talking to a guy at the Everton match last week and he was afriend of the Harris family - I mentioned he might have been playing at Alty in a friendly and he reckoned he's a good lad - attitude and ability.
