Coolpix Cameras for "Slideshow"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

It seems the Coolpix cameras (i.e. 950/990) could provide an especially convenient, easily portable means of displaying a "slideshow" of images on a TV screen. However, as I understand it, once a Coolpix image has been edited in any way, the cameras will no longer recognize and display that file. I'd love to be able to Photoshop my images, load them back to a CF card and use the camera to display images on a TV. Anyone know of a solution?

Ron,

I don't have a Coolpix yet (waiting, along with lots of other people, for a CP990), but I've heard the same thing. Seems to me, being a programmer in a past life, that someone might be able to figure what makes an image "viewable" to the CP camera and come with a way to flip whatever 'bit' is controlling this function. When I get my CP990, I'll look into this. Has anyone done any work in this area already?
