Indian MIG-23 Crashes in Punjab: Pilot Dead

NEW DELHI: An Indian Air Force MIG-23 crashed on Tuesday in the northern Indian state of Punjab, killing the pilot on board, an airforce spokesman said.

The plane crashed into fields near a village in Punjab's Patialia district. "The plane crashed at around 8:00 a.m. (0230 GMT). Unfortunately, the pilot was unable to bail out," said the spokesman.
