Title: American Eagle Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Springfield Airport

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- An American Eagle flight made an emergency landing at a Springfield airport Monday after a fire indication light in the cockpit malfunctioned.

No one was injured and there was no fire, according to Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro.

The American flight was traveling from the Springfield/Branson Airport to Dallas when the fire indicator light signaled there was a problem in the cargo area. The flight returned to Springfield at 10:26 a.m.

Molinaro said the light apparently malfunctioned.

The plane was a Saab 34, a small commuter plane. Molinaro did not know how many people were on board.
