IONS: SPIRIT & INTENTION IN HEALTH & HEALING...

One of the most important questions facing the scientific community as we enter the twenty-first century is whether or not nature can be nonlocal and nontemporal at the macro level, and not merely at the quantum level. The answer has profound repercussions for the philosophy of science, theology, cosmology, ecology--and especially the healing arts. Nonlocal phenomena such as prayer and healing intention have a venerable history, and, like any human activity, represent a valid area of scientific inquiry. Experiments in recent years suggest with increasing persuasion that the influence of human healing intention can operate across both spatial and temporal boundaries, lending support to claims by healers throughout the world who believe that they can restore the health of their patients in the absence of physical or mental contact. What is needed now is a focused program which involves both qualitative research and formal experimentation. Our projects in this area are designed to establish evidence for the objective validity of claims relating to distant intentionality effects, as well as to explore the conditions which foster or inhibit them.
