Dyer and England

It would appear that YKD has not been as outstanding as he was at the start of the season. Is this because he doesn't need to be or is it that the pace of the Premier is taking it's toll on the young lad? There has to be a huge jump between the PL and Div 1 and it would be understandable if he's tired.

As a result, wouldn't it be a blessing if he's omitted from the England squad for Euro 2000, it would mean that he'll get a good rest and mean that he'll be raring to go for next season.

What do you think?

I'd rather he gained experience of laying at the top level. You have to be stretched to improve

I'd rather he didn't play and had a good rest. I'd also prefer AS not to play either, but that won't happen.
We need all our key players fit and raring to go come August - AS will be knackered, as usual, and we could do without KD coming back likewise.

Dyer may go with the squad but he isn't a right back and that's the only role Keegan sees for him. In the meantime, he'll put our best crosser in central midfield. I'd be surprised if Dyer gets more than a run-out. Regarding Shearer, he won't be going to Trinidad as there are England friendlies at that time so he won't get that break. However long the England run is,. he'll be playing football for an extra 6 weeks from the non-internationals. He's carrying an injury and has played all season. Shearer had better not be playing in pre-season friendlies.
