Really that good pictures?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I've seen so many color printer's test prints that I wonder can I really print those kind of incredible quality photos.

What digital camera can do it and what format of picture file. I found out that the test prints are usually tiff files. Can jpg or bmp do the same justice?

I need your opinions. Thanks.

Isnt it great what technology can do these days. And the best part is that it is affordable.

Your question on whether you can get the same incredible quality photo seems to lie on two different equipment needed, the printer and the camera.

First by getting a good photo printer and the correct photo paper, yes you too can print out some great photos. Photos that youve got from the Net or taken yourself. I feel that the best photo printers and made by Epson. Look out for these models that have the "Photo" infront of their model number. Their latest is Photo 870 and 1200.

As for cameras, theres a host to choose from, and I might add, you could also look into miniDV cameras that take both videos and stills.
