God's Decision...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

Finally! After listening to weeks of prayer by both sides of the Elian Saga, God has rendered His verdict:

"Let the kid be with his dad.

"Maybe I'm right. Maybe I'm wrong. More often than not, I make the correct decision. Time will tell.

"Pax vobiscum, My children. Take it easy and have a nice day.

(signed) "Your God."

Well, I'M not going to have a nice day. A little boy is sent to a hell hole. God may have allowed it, but he didn't DO it. I am sick to death of sitting helplessly watching all this shit go on year after year.

Just another distraction to keep us all occupied.

Just because something happens (in spite of prayer) does not mean it is "God's answer". Sometimes you have to wait and watch things play out--oftentimes waiting years or decades before God's providence becomes more plain (if at all--He's not obligated). Obviously you don't understand God, His nature, or the way He works. (Or the way Satan controls this world and those who are not God's children).

Sometimes God will allow an evil entity to bring about an action then judges the evil entity for its own sins(e.g., Babylon in Isaiah was used to deliver judgment to Israel, then Babylon was destroyed by Assyria). Personally, I am looking forward to the day that Janet Reno and her evil boss face their consequences for all the horrors they have perpetrated against human beings. I hope we are all alive to see it.

So now a little boy who watched his mother be eaten by sharks, denied due political process in this country, has been sent back to his abusive media hero father as a pawn for political gain. Long after the media has forgotten him, his father is yelling at him and his little brother, and the politicians have forgotten yesterday's casualties, God will honor the prayers for Elian -- who knows--maybe God will raise him up to deliver a bit of judgment to "deserving" people.

retard, God allows us to live our own follies, such is the nature of freewill, as you prove in your infinite ignorance.

jeilee: "God allowed it, but he(sic) didn't do it."

If you "allowed" a murder to happen when you could have stopped it, you would be guilty of aiding and abetting, even if you didn't commit the murder. A and A is a most serious crime.

Are you saying God should cop a plea? "Yeah, I allowed the Feds to take him. But I didn't personally do it. Don't blame Me, buddy."

If indeed God tries this legal ploy, I do not think it will hold up in court.

Ah, geez. Is everyone a soothsayer? Who is to say that Elain won't someday be the leader in Cuba who brings true democracy to the island? Think long term.

Alas...Kb8...the voice of REASON.

retard, You may wan't to consider the possibility that God does not act according to your beliefs, desires, legal systems, or whims. You may wan't to consider that life is but a microsecond compared to eternity. You may wan't to consider that humans CAN suffer from their own sinful natures, and even for no reason that we can understand. You may wan't to consider that just because you are unable to understand God, does not mean that He does not exist. You may wan't to consider that you aren't as intelligent as God, i.e., in the context of knowledge and intelligence, you may be a bit on the slow side.

He did not see his mother eaten by sharks. He did not see her die.

The "hellhole" that is Cuba has not needed to be a Hellhole for the past 38 years. Has our government backed the Cuban American during the bay of pigs then Castro would not have made it the "poor" country that exists today.

The Father has said all along that he will allow the courts to go through the processes necessary to decide Elian's fate.

It could be that the Father wants the boy to stay here, no one can read his mind, he had no choice but to be Castro's mouthpiece while he was in Cuba-he would have gotten no where by going against Castro. Now that he has his son he could defect himself. The media is doing as they always do, twisting the situation into the worse possible scenerio, speculating and feeding the hysteria for their own profit.

There was a court order stating that Elian cannot leave this country at this time, that was supposed to be what the extended family wanted, they could have turned him over many times but chose not to.

The Cuban government is now issueing visa's for 12 kids and extended family members to join Elian and his Father here. How is that thowing him back into a hellhole?

Legal or not, this has been heartbreaking from the beginning. As far as God's place in all this, think free will. And excuse the capitalization error, but I was upset and forgot to "shift". Don't you feel just a little uneasy signing off like that? Even in quotes, it seems a bit presumptuous.

Factfinder:

I think you are stretching it a bit when say my ignorance is infinite.

Only God is infinite.

I'll admit to being very ignorant. God in His infinite wisdom made me very ignorant. I accept His decision.

-- (retard@but.happy), April 22, 2000.

LOL, that was witty retard. Actually, I have little doubt that by human standards you are intelligent. But you miss my point, which is God gave you freewill to do as you wish, and so you do, but IMHO, your choices are unwise. Your ignorance of God is of your own making, not God's.

FF: I was trying to be funny. Maybe an inappropriate topic for humor.

I intended no offense. Sorry.

I hope they bust the real criminals in this case. Larazo, buddy, hopefuly they are coming for you next. Kidnapping is a serious offense.

Well; I for one am glad this is over. The, so-called Cuban community, has certainly made an ass of itself.

Best wishes,,,,

Amen to that, Z.

I lived in Miami for nine years, recently. I found the Cuban-Americans to be very nice.

So I was disappointed by the C-A community's behavior throughout the Elian Saga.

Time heals all things, I hope.
