High Solar Activity Continues...04/20/00 by Mitch Battros (ECTV)

Another CME occurred late Wednesday night. It was followed by several C-Class flares and a warning of M-Class flares to follow. Expect continued severe weather to occur within 48 hours.

In the last week alone we have seen four volcanoes erupt, two cyclones, severe dust and sandstorms all across the world from Egypt to Wyoming, a freak tornado hits southern California and extreme floods throughout asia. I would suggest this is further evidence of a Sun - Earth connection.

Equation: Sunspots = Solar Flares = Magnetic Shift = Shifting Ocean and Jet Stream Currents = Extreme Weather

There has been an unusually low period of seismic activity. This could be very bad news. It is know that when 4's, 5's and some 6.0 earthquakes occur often enough, it will decrease the pressure on the fault lines around the ring of fire. What may be even more unusual is this comes at a time of increased volcanic activity. This could be a set up for very large quakes to occurin the 7.5 to 8.5 range.

I will have Jim Berkland on "live" today on ECTV. Jim is a well known andfrequent guest on our show. He is a registered seismologist / geologist out of southern California. Jim is well known for his incredible accuracy of predicting quakes. He has what is known as a high "hit rate" of over 75%. We will ask Jim when next "window" (meaning window of opportunity)will occur and where.

Geomagnetic activity remains low. However, the solar wind velocity is onthe rise apparently in response to a small coronal hole that crossed the center of the Sun's disk two days ago. If the interplanetary magnetic field turns southward, conditions could be ripe for enhanced auroral activity at high latitudes.
