Slide-Show software that will display long file-names?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have several thousand family photos, dating from about 1905 to the present, which I have scanned and organized into folders, according to date, location, subject, etc. I still have many more to add, including images from my digital camera. Each image file is identified with a long file-name, which includes the location, description, of the photo and date. I plan to copy these to CD's and distribute them to all my family in the hope that they will add to them and pass them on to their families, and so on. I would like to find a simple slide-show software, consisting of maybe one or two files, that I could drop into each folder, that would display the long file-name with each photo. Storm Technology's EZviewer.exe will do this except it will only display the short DOS file-name. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Irfan Iview_32 does that. It is also a pretty complete editor and will handle a wide range of media files. It is freeware. It is a stand-alone executable with no extra dll files, and is about 700K. Slide shows can be saved and loaded as text files.
