CLONING

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

Well no one thought Time Travel was a good idea and I have to agree. What about cloning? Some day it will probably be possible to clone a human and who knows it may be going on right now. I lost a baby 10 years ago and with the recent death of a loved one I have thought about this again(I know I am strange and yes I like Sci-Fi) but I do not think it is a good idea to clone humans or even organs. It is just too creepy. I just think they would be walking around like zombies with no souls. What do you think? (Just trying to think or topics other than the trashing of LL or pro or Hawk for a change)

Hi Missy-- Somehow cloning an entire human doesn't seem as bad as having vats of protien around ready to be triggered to make ears or arms or whatever is needed.

I half remember a story where someone was passing by the "protien vats" and saw a human form shaping and rising up. Then they said to themselves, "couldn't be" and walked on.

I think it would be good if we learned what triggers life and where sentience begins BEFORE we start cloning organs.

For humor on cloning see the movie, "Multiplicity".

I wish someone whould clone "Dolly" for me and I do not refer to a sheep.

Check out my link and you will enter the clone zone. Lots of good info.

Missy:

To give an answer, I will need an exact scientific explanation of what you mean by cloning. A term that is used by many and understood by few.

Best wishes,,,,
