Personal play in Canada

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Team SF : One Thread

Went to Vancouver earlier this month with my brother who was giving a speech. Played a short time at the Great Canadian Casino, downtown on W. Hastings. Rules were good, pen was very bad, cutting off about 1.75. DJ

Pen in Vancouver (D-M)

The downtown casino was probably the worst we saw. 1 deck cut out of 6 can easily be found at other casinos in the Vancouver area. I highly recommend looking around a bit up there.

I am with you on your negative feelings, and appreciate your perspective. Oddly enough, I do belive that this can be turned around and is merely a temporary setback. Too bad Rob doesn't still have Suquamish to pound in to the ground. Incidentally, Suquamish turned all their 8 deck games into 6 deck games, and still have that incredibly trackable shuffle. I think that should be the primary point of attack for those still welcome when the bank starts rolling again.

Incidentally, how come I never got to meet your daughter? :-) (feeble attempt at humor)

Vancouver BJ

I suspected that the other places were OK but we did not have time to play. Had to go skiing at Whistler! Regarding my daughter, she's been away at college and has had a boyfriend for a long time, so you missed out. Too bad. You will have to find a woman on your own. DJ

a. The 3 Gateway casinos in the Vancouver area are Griffin. If you make it on to 'candid camera' your picture will be passed around to all 10 casinos in the area. Although they are mostly asleep and/or tolerant your normal act s/b followed.

b. The Great Canadian shuffle is trackable to some degree. See Stray for details. Most of their 7 or 8 casinos in BC have good pen (5/6)
