Girlie Thread!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Don`t get your hopes up boys! It`s not what you think!

OK ladies, as a harmless way of relieving boredom, Yelli and I speculate on our `dream team`. The ONLY criteria is that the players have to be `pleasing to the eye`! (Said you wouldn`t like this one lads!) We are having trouble finding likely candidates for our defence - any suggestions? (I lied, looks are not the only criteria, they have to play in position.) As we can`t agree on a playing partner for Big Al (more about that later) we need suggestions in that area too!

Enjoy speculating!!!! (:o)

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

We can have a whole ruddy league if we want :o)

Lee Sharpe please attacking mid-field

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

He'll have to fight David Ginola for it!!! ;)

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

Angel from Buffy, Robert De Niro, Lee Sharpe and David Ginola...

Peerrrlllleeeaaasssseeee girls..... I could do better than that!!

What about:- Tom Cruise Patrick Swayze George Clooney Robbie Williams

For starters ;)

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

Nah Lee Sharpe plays on the left so we are okay there ;o)

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

Superb!!! Who would you have up front?!?

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

Ahh..must dig deep into the old brain cells for this one. A few friends and I started with our "Boy Toy" team last season which was restricted to tasty 25 and unders...with the auld ones acting as coaches(mainly cause we were arguing about how to include Shearer and Neil Sullivan). We soon threw out the age restriction and started working on a league ;-) Early pics off the top of me head would be:
Goal: Harper, Given, Sullivan, Presthus(of DC United) Defense: err...we had trouble with this one last year too
Midfield: John Harkes(now of NE Revs), Kewell, Speed....uhhh, there's probably more I just can't think of them right now
Strikers: Al, Dunc, Gallacher, Dean Saunders...

That's a start anyhoo. ;-)

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

Oh...if we're also including non-footie players, may I have Pierce Brosnan please. rowwwwrrrrr!!

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

We were going with Seaman or Given in goal.

Had Ginola in midfield, along with Speed and (don't hate us forever!) Roy Keane and Beckham.

We had Shearer up front (obviously) but we were disputing Batistuta (Mum said yes, I said no)and we were a bit stuck after that, but we quite fancied fitting Del Piero in somewhere!!! And Raul after watching him last night against Man Ure.

The defence is a big problem. Domi is a possible as is Tony Adams, if only for the fact that he reminds us of Jimmy Nail!!!

;))

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

Could go with Keane. If he'd stop with the inmate look and grow his hair out, he is actually rather good looking. I'm assuming brains AND personality are optional here.... ;-)))

Much as I'm gagging at saying it...I could also nominate Owen. He is cute, even if he's a little &^#*&#%^#(.

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

How bout Howey for defense. When he lays off the bad hair dye, he's rather easy on the eye.

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

Keane is (somewhat surprisingly) very attractive!!! And he's absolutely lovely interviewed - a really sort Irish accent, such a contrast to how he plays on the pitch!! ;))

Beckham - we think - looks better with the inmates haircut. He's lost a bit of the girly boy image - and he's actually very good looking too (even if he is a #@*~)

I do agree with Owen - as much as it hurts to say it!! And, I'm going to say this and run away..... Kevin Phillips is quite tasty too.....

(Please don't hold this against me anyone!!!)

Sorry, can't keep out of this one.....so if you are not gonna have Given between the sticks, does that mean you are gonna have Seaman in the box?

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

Maybe both! Given seems to panic when he's alone between the sticks. ;-)))

-- Anonymous, April 20, 2000

Time to re-sign that young Dutch left-winger from Heerenveen methinks.

Meanwhile:

Jealous Boyfriend's Approved 11

De Gooey
Neville Stam Keown Le Saux
Pollock Dowie Butt Stamp
Solskjaer Meijer

There, that'll keep them in line...;-)

Softie - are you trying to give me nightmares again! (:o)

Ladies, we are still low on defenders! And Ciara - you like `knitting pattern man`? So do we both! I also favour Pacino, and Garcia! Not to mention Mr. Lucious Lips himself - Bradley Pitt!

Talking of things that are nice to look at, anyone else enjoying the new Nike advert? Excellent! (:o)

Best looking manager - Ruud (sorry folks, but it`s true!)

Sexiest non-playing footballer - Ali McCoist. (:o)

-- Anonymous, April 21, 2000

Galaxy,

Ali McCoist?? only cos he's a cheeky chappy or something surely??

Little tosser once stole a date off me!!

I'm getting insecure hearing his name mentioned.....oops no I'm not...it was wind....

-- Anonymous, April 21, 2000

Yeah, that`s what it is! He has a high cuteness factor and a great sense of humour. (:o)

-- Anonymous, April 21, 2000

BTW Gav, I loved Ciara`s posting about the treehouse on the MEN ONLY thread - it made me chuckle! (:o)

-- Anonymous, April 21, 2000

Ooo...Ali McCoist...yesss...mmmmm.

And since we're going purely on looks, I have to say LeSaux and Solskjaer aren't too hard on the eye. Ok, Softie, we'll let those 2 stay. ;-)

Also thought of another defender...Vegard Heggem.

Haven't seen the Nike ad, but if he's anything like the Diet Coke guy from a few years ago, then yes. :-9

-- Anonymous, April 21, 2000

Galaxy,

Yup she made me laugh as well ;) mind you she's getting a bit prolific with her selections....you don't think she's trying to put an american football team out instead of a "soccer" team do ya?

Or maybe she's just got very little taste and fancies anything in pants ;)

-- Anonymous, April 21, 2000

ohhh....getting jealous there, Gav? Pot, kettle.. ;-)))

-- Anonymous, April 21, 2000

Hahahaha :))

Yeah but I've got taste!!...

Solksjaer?? why not just go for Iain Dowie as well ;))

Hmmm I think I'll have a subs bench of :- Jordan Cindy Crawford Charlize Theron (Devils Advocate) Danni Minogue Denise Van Outen

-- Anonymous, April 21, 2000

Well there's no pleasing you boys, is there. Here I try to make some concession to the Jealous guys' XI, and you're still whinging. ;-)

Anyway, I admit I'm a sucker for the Solskaer's boyish look..and he does resemble an ex-boyfriend. ;-)

I like them tall dark and mature, I couldn't find a goal keeper but with this team we don't need one. John Gregory (man), Paolo Maidini (def), Alessandro Pistone (def), Pierce Brosnan (def), Count Dracula (def), David Ginola (mid), Elvis (mid), Sean Connery (mid), Jamie McClen (mid), Christian Vieri (striker), Rivaldo (striker). mmmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy.

-- Anonymous, April 21, 2000

Deb,

You're a sick puppy honey...Rivaldo?!?! just cos he's bow legged, doesn't mean he's hung like a donkey! ;)

Count Dracula eh......

*Gav quietly leaves the room*......

-- Anonymous, April 21, 2000

Interesting team Deb! (:o)

-- Anonymous, April 21, 2000

These guys will do anything to get into our team! Not so sure about this one, though. Check him out...photo from the Ronnie:
