The "Miracle Maker" movie...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Christian Church : One Thread

I have received a few e-mails regarding this "Miracle Maker" film by ABC. It looks like a clay animation project. Have any you heard anything about it or received one of the e-mails about it floating around in cyberspace?

I don't remember where I read it, but I do remember reading that it stayed as true to the Scriptures as most any presentation we've seen, and truer than most. Dunno, tho. Gotta wait and see it.

I read a review of it over on ibelieve.com. That review appaulded ABC for their boldness to show this. Apparently it is very accurately done (down to an actual Middle-Eastern looking Jesus, rather than the Aryan looking -- uh oh, now Mark Hilyard (sp?) is going to comment), the format allows for people to focus on the story and not the actors, and rather than some productions hemming and hawing over whether the Resurrection happened, or if Jesus was actually the Son of God, this one raises no such questions or doubts. ibelieve.com gave it five doves out of five, though they were critical of the format's limitations in portraying the crucifixion.

I have also seen USA Today's review. They gave it 3.5 stars out of 4.

Here is the e-mail I got about it:

ABC is set to premier a movie on the life of Christ called the Miracle Maker (86 minutes) on Easter, April 23 at 7-9 PM EDT. ABC is experimenting with this type of programming, but has given it no advertising budget. The advertising" is all by word of mouth. It was produced by BBC Wales in cooperation with animators in Russia. The voice over cast is uniformly excellent. The film takes liberties with some of the biblical chronology, but that is forgivable in light of the careful and accurate treatment of the individual segments. Some passages are wonderfully done. Please take time to sit with your family and take a look at this creative view of the life of Jesus on Easter Sunday.

Please pray for the effort, and especially for Judith Tukich (the ABC rep who is promoting the show around the country). Judith has gone far more than the extra mile in pushing this quality programming at a secular network. If ABC gets the ratings they hope for on this show, they may well do more programming that honors the Lord.

If you want to make a difference in Hollywood-if you want to lend your voice to support God-honoring programming, then this is your opportunity. Please tell others to watch. I think they will really like what they see. I've included the web address for those who would like to download the trailer. http://www.themiraclemaker.com/

I don't know...I guess I'll watch it and see.

I guess I'll have to miss this one, since I'll be driving back from church while it airs.

Besides, the IMPORTANT movie will be on Monday night - the Three Stooges Story! Hey Moe, Hey Moe.....Nuk...Nuk...Nuk!!

Actually, ABC is promoting it a little, despite what the common e-mail floating around is saying (I have seen that one three times now). I saw an ad for "The Miracle Maker" while watching "Who's Line Is It Anyway?".

I will probably record it and watch it later in the week. My son will only let me brush his teeth, and that might be my night to get him to bed anyway.

"Apparently it is very accurately done (down to an actual Middle- Eastern looking Jesus, rather than the Aryan looking -- uh oh, now Mark Hilyard (sp?) is going to comment),"

Why should I comment on this...The people love deception.

(Jer 5:31 KJV) "The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?"

Question!

What religion was Jesus in opposition to and what Religion was in opposition to Jesus.

Hint! It uses a book which came out of Babylon, and bears the title. Many people [dumb Christians] have been deluded into worshipping the practitioners of this Religion. Who went to Babylon and who came back from Babylon? I think that when you find the answer you will have found the Babylon Mystery Religion. The same one which attacked Jesus and is attacking you today. It takes on a political guise also. Marxism.

"The truth always promotes a scandal." Or so it seems.

Mark H.

One question:

As per Matthew 5:17 - "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill."

Which Law was Jesus fulfilling - the law of the Celts or the Law of Moses?
