Are you a sucker for stray animals? What do you do to prevent yourself from becoming an unofficial half way house for lost and/or wounded animals?

Last year, Danny the pup killed Mama Rabbit. Mama Rabbit had Baby Rabbit, which we found the next day. We bottle fed him. Bought him a huge gerbil ball to roll around and explore the house. He had a two story condo with a litter box and chewy toys. Alas, FuzzButt expired this winter, possibly due to some exotic wild bunny disease. However, if it wasn't for the coyotes I am certain we would have stray cats surrounding the house. And last year, the kids found turtles... well, they went to the pond. I just couldn't deal with that. And this winter we had a cow visit us. You get the picture.

I suppose I wouldn't have 5 cats if I didn't have sucker written on my forehead. How can you not take them in?
Afterall, they're much more decent animals that we humans are.

I'm a sucker. We have two cats. Found both of those. Have had more birds, bunnies, turtles, and puppies than I care to count. We live by the lake, too, so there's always been a plethora of geese, ducks, or whatever else staggering into our yards. Our backyard is a freaking cemetary for the animals that we couldn't save.
I have a whole family of suckers.

One eye, three legs, no tail, big, small, fat, skinny, can bark, can't bark, fur, no fur, you name it...they all end up at my house. I swear, sometimes when I walk outside I can hear them, "GET HER!!" I think there's a "sucker" cloud that hangs over my house. The best way I've found to make sure I don't end up with all the animals that come to me, is to locate local rehabilitators through a vet. They'll many times take the animals or find someone who will.
Suckers unite. :)
