James LeGros

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

As well as ER, I also watch Ally McBeal and the actor James LeGros was recently added to the cast of Ally McBeal. He looked very familiar to me and it was driving me crazy that I couldn't place him. So I looked up some info. on the internet and read that he was a doctor on ER for several episodes during the end of the 1998 season. I know I watched ER then, but I can't remember his role?? If anyone remembers him please clue me in!! Thanks so much! Dena

He played Anna DelAmico's doctor boyfriend from Philly. He was addicted to pain killers (I think, something of that nature). When Maria Bello decided to leave "ER," her character returned to Philly with him.

His name was Max Resher on ER, he was partly responsible for Ross's Pediatriac ER.

OK, does anybody think it kind of coincidental that Anna DelAmico's boyfriend Max was addicted to pain killers(?) and now Carter, who had major feelings for her is rumored to become addicted to them? Just thought'd I'd share that for those of you who care.

I noticed this "coincidence" too. (But so far, we haven't seen any evidence of drug abuse by Carter. Is this another snow job? Stay tuned!)

Sorry, but I find it a bigger coincidence (yawn) that Greene was playing with pain meds after being beaten up. Pleeeeease, let the writers try something new........but I fear I may regret that statement!

And wasn't that "Joi Abbott" playing the role of that woman's psychiatrist?

-- joy (joygirl01@yahoo.com), April 20, 2000.

with the whirling dervish comparison and the inability to sleep, it sounds more like amphetamines than pain killers. I agree, I wish they would take a different road with Carter than an old tired addiction story line.

Yes, Joi, I believe it was!

oh, yeah, that definitely was joi abbott...man, 2 previous characters from er in the same epi of ally mcbeal...wonder if any more will show up

Another interesting, but professional coincidence between Max and Carter. Both James LeGros and Noah Wyle were in Myth of Fingerprints. I love that movie and nearly flipped when I saw the Cezanne was the same guy who played Max!

....And the ones who haven't drifted over to Ally McBeal have moved to D.C. and become high-powered Washingtonians on West Wing (a far superior locale IMHO). So far we've seen Jorja Fox a/k/a Maggie Doyle as a really good Secret Service agent and Amy Aquino a/k/a Dr. Janet Coburn as a Congresswoman who has to be coaxed into not offering a killer amendment to White House legislation. Perhaps Jerry will show up next as a lobbyist (we can only imagine for what). Or Bob as a Polish diplomat....

Hey, Mary, more West Wing connections: Bradley Whitford was Jodi O'Brien's husband in "Love's Labour Lost" and the girl who plays his assistant on TWW was a mother who pained Doug by not being able to feed her kids in season one. And, hey, Kellie Martin starred on "Life Goes On" with Rob Lowe's brother, Chad, who also played Carter's salmon-sperm obsessed med student who was allergic to latex. Sometimes my geek-ness astounds me.

And on a somewhat vaguely related note, "Jodi O'Brien" herself showed up on last week's X-Files as a crop circle researcher, and "Jerry" was a guest on an episode a season or two ago as well.

Jennifer, I THOUGHT she looked familiar! Thank you! :-)

-- Arianne (CarolRossSusanGreene@yahoo.com), April 24, 2000.

BTW, I was watching Ally McBeal last night. On the screen walks Chloe! :) (I don't know her real name.) She played a character who wanted to marry a convict who was serving a life sentence. I wanted to say, "Hey, where are Susan and baby Susie?"

Another West Wing/Er connection...Paul Sobricki's wife played the secretary on West Wing that ratted on Leo.
