My wife and I are interested in the Nikon CoolPix 950, but both of us do not have serial ports on our computers. She's PC and I'm Mac (G4-450). Is there and adapter we can use? If so do we need to get one for each of the platforms?

The slowest way to download pictures is from the camera using the serial port. Take the card out after shooting and put it in a card reader hooked up to the computer. If both have USB it is VERY easy and FAST. USB card readers are also quite cheap.
