About two years ago I bought Coolscan LS-1000 for $2350. It's quite noisly, with no color calibration, Twain panel are wisible only at 1280x1024 resolution, etc. I waiting for new software. And what? Nikon DON'T SUPPORT THIS model now. It do LS-2000 and Nikon scan 2.5 with "defect correction" end so on. But this software do not work wiht LS-1000. Why? This is alike a lens, that work with only one camera! For $2350 + shipping! By Nikon? No, thanks! Never!

You'd be happy to know that LaserSoft Imaging will still support the Nikon LS1000 with the real professional software SilverFast Ai which won many awards (check out the press comments from our web site / download the demo). I regret that Nikon does not post the availibility of SilverFast Ai for all Nikon scanners here in the US, while in Europe SilverFast Ai is even bundled with all Nikon scanners.
