Somebody help me on this, as we haven't had a computer very long -- what does "LOL" mean?

Laughing out loud. ROFL Rolling on floor laughing...etc. Just little expressions. I suppose someone knows of a website with all the definitions!

Kathleen, go to http://askjeeves.com

When you get there, type "internet newbie" (without the quotation marks) in the search window. You'll get a selection of sites that might be of interest on four different search engines. For example Webcrawler comes up with 10 possibilities, there will be more if you go to Webcrawler. Gerbil

Thanks sheepish. I can get around the internet pretty well, but this is really my first forum that I've even been remotely interested in. I checked out Jeeves and it's pretty cool. The key word to check for is Netiquette. Sorry folks...I just found out that I've been SHOUTING (all caps) too much! I'm sure there's much more to learn...I don't think I'll be able to remember it all:)! Hope I did that right..It's supposed to be a smile.

Welcome, Kathleen & Jennifer! This is a really interesting site, and I believe you will find the majority of the correspondents to be helpful and entertaining. Sometimes silly, but humor is a tonic after all! There are no dumb or silly questions here, in spite of an occasional wacko who would espouse such an opinion. We're all here to help, and I have recieved much good advice here. I also hope that I have helped others. We're all friends, and we enjoy life. GL!
