How can I breed a monster that could live +10 years? greenspun.com : LUSENET : Monster Rancher 2 : One Thread

I would like to know what are the two longest living monsters in the game? I know that the Wracky can live a VERY long life... even Charles. But who would go good with him? A Pheonix? Maybe a Mock? I'm not really looking for how he looks. More of how long he will live. Does anything live longer than a Wracky? I might just breed two Wracky's together and get a Super-Wracky that could live way over 10 years... what do you think?

-- Jimmy Cooper (duckman18@hotmail.com), January 22, 2000 Answers Mock and plants are the two other longest living monsters, but I dont think it is possible to breed the two wrackys and get 10+ years

I have a Wracky that's over 7 years old and still in his prime (second generation, both him and his father fed Gold and Silver Peaches). It's not that hard with Wrackies, but Plants and Mocks will take alot of good breeding to get out to that long- and if you can get out there with any other monster, I'll be impressed.

There is a Wracky/Mock combo, called a Mocky. Also, Mock and plant disc chips add 10 weeks to your monster's life when you combine with them, regardless of what you get. Hope this helps.

My Shishin Baku/???? lived 8y5m with no peaches. I don't if Baku live a long time or just the Shishi because it is a special Baku. With a couple of peaches and keeping its form in normal I'm sure he could have lived past 10 years. His form was skinny almost all his life and I fed him meat instead of tablets(because he hated tablets).

-- The Man (djedmond@pinenet.com), January 22, 2000.

it is supposed to say I don't know if Bakus live...

-- The Man (djedmond@pinenet.com), January 22, 2000.

here is what I'd do take two mocky's raise them and give them both golden and silver peaches. Combine them together with a mock or plant disc chip(probably a plant cause you don't want a high chance of a pure mock) keep trying till you get another mocky and feed him both peaches. With a good trainer raising them the last one should have an extremely high lifespan.

I don't know if this is natural, but my Garuda (Durahan/Phoenix) is well past ten years of age. I always thought that was peculiar, becuase it was a "it doesn't look too good" combination. I plan to test the full limits of my Garuda tomorrow, so expect to see the final results within a couple of days.

-- Eagle Fierce (Eagle1@Citynet.net), January 22, 2000.

grrrrrr i can only hope my vesuvius lives for 7 years it's for father , a metal glory lived for 6y6m and well no comment on the dragon(cus their lifespans suck ass as first gen dragon/dragons).

-- CrimsonBladez (krymzonbladez@hotmail.com), January 23, 2000.

If I used tjmax's idea about two fully raised monsters and both had golden and silver peaches, woulden't it work best with two wrackys? Could someone try and see what a second gen wracky would be if both the parents had had both peaches? And add in a plant disk chip just for good measure...

I know this is reposted but I wanted to add my two cents. My first Hall of Famer, A Bengal (Jill/Kato) was a CD monster and lived about 8y3m. This says one of two things; either Jills are long lived and worth considering or the raising techniques have a lot more to say about a lifespan than we thought... Food for thought. Also, I raised him before I knew about tech trees and wasted a lot of time and life on errantry and exploration, I have a feeling he could have lived closer to 10y if I had known

Well, as for me, I currently have a Jell/Worm in my freezer that is 7y8mo, and it's first gen... either Slate or CD, don't know... of course, I didn't fight with him at all until he qualified for Elder Cup, so... =)

I wasn't able to save that thread, Torey. Very few people believed it, anyways.

I takes planned breeding to get a monster to live over 10 years. I once had a phoenix that lived to be over 10 by always combining with plant chips and using peaches for each of its predissesors. In theory new proporties(lifespan, skill levels, techniques) can be completly integrated into a monster over several generations. I am doing a project right now to test all parts of the theory. The problem with this method is that you can't combine a first generation monster with any other generation or else your monster's abilities will have a greater chance of devolving. After I do my experiment I will explain in better detail.

no, no, no, you guys misunderstand. some guy was here a week ago, claiming he raised a golem to live 23 years. a few of us scoffed; a few of us thought that it might be theoretically possible, but the poster's overall story had a few holes in it.

what is the longest a monster lives. i know onimoba was studying immortality, and i've seen some credible posts ascribing lives of 15-16 to especially longlived species, such as mocks.

The guy posted his monster in 2 different threads. They're both deleted right now. His stats and the amount of techs that he learned, were way out of wack. The stats weren't even maxxed out yet. They were all trailing along the 900+ area. If you had a monster for 23 years, you'd think that the monster would be completely maxxed out...

In his first post, he claimed to have gotten 27 techs. To those who don't know, you can only get a maximum of 24 techs for any given monster. In his second post, he claimed to have 24 techs, but a golem can only get 22 techs. Clearly, he just made that up.

If he can lie about that, I don't see why he couldn't lie about the age, and the stats, and the golem's mere existence.

a little hard and a really good monster really works on most monsters my STRONG HORN GOLEM/BEACLON lived to be 11y6m without peaches but now he is 16y10m and still kicking. all you really have to do is give it at least 2-3 gold peaches and a silver peach (optional)

Either you're playing MR1, or you're an absolute liar! While I wholheartedly admit that it is possible to have a Golem live that long, you may only give it one Golden and on Silver peach.

By the way, I was NOT the one that created the 23yr old Golem. As for the proof, I'm not sure about it. As often as his raising technique required, it may be possible to get a monster to live that long. Because of the constant rest, it's stats would not reach the highest. I admit that it's pretty far-fetched, but not impossible, giving the amount of rest. I STILL don't beleive the number of techs. it had, though.

The game says that the gold peach grows once every ten years but thats BS. What if giving the peach only once is BS aswell...does anyone have any proof that the GP does not have any affect the second time...RNA, DP, anyone?

-- M@k@VeLL! (www.---@whatever.com), April 14, 2000.

I do! Just try to give it to your monster (in MR2) more than once. THAT is all of the proof that you need, my friend!

-- Eagle Fierce (Eagle_Fierce@Hotmail.com), April 14, 2000.

That 23 year old golem was disproved by the potential lifespan thing...

-- RaPtOr2157 (raptor2157@aol.com), April 14, 2000.

this is a game shark code that is supposed to let you choose the lifespan of your monster. 80097a30 00?? i havent tried it yet.
