Mike The UK Guys Views

Well wow last nights episode was pretty good. I think it still didn't show much of Lukas character thought. I would have actually liked to see Luka screw up, because we havn't really seen that YET in the UK. I don't know if you have in the US or not because havn't read the spoilers for a few weeks now.

Now you may think why do you want Luka to stuff up don't you like him? Well I do thats the point think about it when did you see Luka truly screw up truly make a mistake and go against the judgement of his collegues. The fact is they are making Luka out to be a SUPER HUMAN doctor and no-one is that so I really hope they do something where people turn on him. This would also make sense if maybe they did it AFTER this season I would like to see a NEW Luka when Carol leaves a Luka which is Broken Hearted and bitter a Luka which knows that he can get women and uses them for it because of Carol.

This would also link very nicely because it could all build up to this point where all these feelings he has been keeping in explode. Maybe he could then let it all out to someone maybe Dr.Greene but to tell you the truth I would like it to be either Carter or Malucci.

Now I'm going to justify this so I don't get a few people asking why Malucci. Well Malucci is another well hidden character he's a mystery and also I would like to see Luka wake up to himself when he talks to Dr.Dave. Maybe we could see a more mature side of Dr.Dave from this and remember Luka wouldn't really have a true friend after Carol's gone and I think it would be better for him to have some tension with Greene. As we saw in Be Still... these two could really get into some real heat arguments on screen. Another thing if Luka would talk to Dr.Dave is not to mentoin the fact that they neither of them has found a real friend but maybe Luka could be a mentor to Dave.

However I think Carter would also be a good person to talk to think about it they would have a lot in common both have losted loved ones (Luka lost his wife and Carol, Carters lost to many to mentoin). They would also now have this thing in common of "Losing" it after the events of losing these loved ones.

So what do you guys think should Luka eventually show that he is human and start a new side to him?? Should Dave become more mature and perhaps start to be a great doctor? Or Should I just get my coat now?

See Yah all later Mike G

For of all, I am also a viewer from the UK so a few weeks late on the US schedule. It's great to see that someone from this end contributes to this forum and I may even suggest to start a "UK viewer" discussion group so that we can bring perhaps another perspective.

Back to an answer. I like Dr. Dave because he's in "place A", aka has a lot to learn about himself and his job, and needs to be in "place B", aka, a excelent doctor. The journey he needs to make is what, in may opinion, makes good viewing. Dave is all shades of grey and I agree with the fact that he needs a mentor, but not necessarely a friendly one.

Luka could be the best choice, because although I find him altogether yummy, I'm not very invested in his character and I think they could bring each other out. As you put it, he too "good". I would have liked to see him fail as well to bring forward the inner conflict which is plaguing him. The writers missed an opportunity. After all, we have seen a lot of our past favorite characters make bad calls with disastrous consequences to the patient and to themselves early on in their character developments. Remember Susan and the heart attack guy in Season 1, Mark and the pregnant woman, Doug and the little AIDS boy or the woman in the bar, Kerri, Carter, Peter, Carol, .... And did we like them less for it? I don't think so, quite the contrary.

Hight time Luka provides real drama, please leaving Carol out of it, for both their sakes and ours.

See you later, AP

WOW! I feel sorry for you guys since you have to see it weeks later than we do in the US. So much has happened! I won't spoil it for you, but the next episode ("Under Control") is pretty good and funny. E-mail me if you want more details on upcoming shows!

MIKE!!! Luka show that he is human??? OMG, he is so human already! the way he cares for all his patients, the way he has been a friend to carol......... i have no idea what you are talking about here, please elaborate! are you referring to the fact that he is not selfish, telling his problems to everyone, trying to get sympathy? he is just a very private person, he is a friend to all, and there for anyone that needs him! besides, he is a hottie...wooohoooooooo!!

Alexis, What I meant was that doctors make mistakes and from that we realise that like us they make mistakes also and can not always be this perfect life saving person. Sorry I should have made it more clear I agree Luka is human by these ways I just meant in terms of his ablities as a doctor.

mike! i am sure he has made mistakes, but i did not notice, because i have him up so high on a pedestal. he is one of my fave characters right now! he might not make as much mistakes as the others, because he has no social life (cept for few times he hangs out with carol), so he is not preoccupied with any problems when he is working. (possibly?)
