Former Utah head coach Dave Poggi has taken the head coaching position of the new women's soccer team at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. The team will be playing this fall instead of in 2001 as had been expected. Poggi is well known in Lafayette and the surrounding area as he was the head coach of the Lafayette Swampcats of the now defunct Eastern Indoor Soccer League. Poggi coached the Swampcats to two consecutive championships in the 2 years of the EISL. Welcome home, Dave. I guesss I'll be watching women's soccer this fall while waiting for ice hockey to begin. Good luck to the Utah Freezz in their 2nd year. It was fun being a Freezz fan from Lafayette, La and reading about all the games from afar.
