Question about breeding/combining pixies

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B's Monster Rancher 2 : One Thread

I just got this game last weekend, and I'm completely addicted. So far I've raised two pixies, a Diana (pixie/dragon) and a Kitten (pixie/kato) up to class S status before i had to retire them. Imagine my disappointment when I learned that after all that hard work, they make a poor breeding pair. Both have intelligence in the mid 700 range, and speed and skill in the mid 600's. The best response I can get from the guy at the lab is a noncommital "I don't know how this combination will turn out" when I try to combine them. When I go ahead and combine them anyway, I usually get a pixie with around +350 intelligence, 180 skill and speed, and 2 extra techniques. Now that ain't bad, but I invested a lot of time, energy, and money into raising my other pixies, and I would hate for all that hard work to go to waste just because I chose a lame breeding combination. So I have a few questions for all you helpful master breeders out there:

1)Is it true the monsters should have the same top three stats, in the same order, to produce a good or great combination? That's the way my pixies' stats are, but it doesn't seem to help.

2)Exactly what characterists will the offspring of a good or great combination possess? Will they have more than one skill in the +350 range? Will they start out with more techniques?

3)Is there a way to tell if a combination will be poor BEFORE the monsters you want to breed reach retirement age?

4)Can anyone recommend a good mate for a Diana or a Kitten? :) Thanks a lot! -Adam

I usually combine one that is good in 3 areas and good in the other 3 or just combine two good monster to get another good monster.Usually just 2 or 3 good stats at like 250 or something and usually they do. I don't really know but I think there is like if you combine two monsters that obviously won't combine well.I don't know B/C if it is a subreed or the main breed.Try a Phoenix with both of them with the F feather. You would probably get a real good monster.

If you use a special item, like a feather or undine slate, you won't get much stat carryover. But you may get a good move list.
