losing on time at errantry battles

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B's Monster Rancher 2 : One Thread

I was fighting a random encounter at the end of an errantry. My monster was out matched but was holding his own. The battle went on for about 5 minutes The monster he was fighting was still in the blue and so was my monster and then my monster gave up without me telling him to. Has this happened to anyone else?

-- John Morton (Walker-boh@webtv.net), January 02, 2000 Answers Errantry battles have an invisible timer. The fight will go one for some time, but at the end it doesn't matter wether or not your monster is ahead or behind in life, you lose when the timer is up.

There is a timer that you cannot see. If you are stuck with a monster with high speed and you have low skill, your monster will probably never hit it.If you don't KO it within the certain time limit, your monster will give up automatically without you pressing the select button.
