Battle Stat Compilation greenspun.com : LUSENET : Monster Rancher 2 : One Thread --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Battle Stats This has been asked off and on for some time, and the answers tend to be spread out among several threads. Just thought I'd piece them together into one coherent location for easier reference. Credit for all who's input I'm using is listed below.

ANGER - occurs when a bad natured monster takes damage. Once activated, anger speeds up guts regeneration, it bolsters the effectiveness of withering techniques, and it dramatically increases enemy chance to hit, so be careful Ease - When the enemy misses your monster a set number of consecutive times, ease is activated. Lowers guts cost and increases evade rate. FIGHT: After a certain amount of time with no fighting (?)once you get hit guts goes up to 99. FURY- when you take damage, damage goes up. GRIT: gives you a second chance after you[or the enemy] have been ko'ed. More than just an extra 1 hp, it also magnifies the monster's power. GUARD - defense goes up, guts regeneration goes up. HURRY- When Time is runnning out, Guts, SKI, Damage increase. POWER - Activated when monster takes a severe amount of damage in one hit. Once activated, affected monster's power rating raises tenfold. Use this time to make a comeback. RAGE- When monster gets hit, guts increase(?) and damage bonus. REAL- When monster does certain % damage in a certain time without getting hit, gets fast guts and hit% increase(?) Everything seems to go up, but once it wears off, your monster takes a huge stat hit in everything. Real really means "you better win now, sucker" when it happens to your monster, and means " if you can survive the next 15 seconds or so, you get to win" when it happens to your enemies. UNITY- Who's raised a Color Pandora to find out?? VIGOR- When monster does certain % damage in a certain time without getting hit, gets fast guts and speed increase. WILL increases your hit percentages but it also takes 2 to 2 and a half times the normal guts for that attack

Where information conflicted, I tried to weed out the most unlikely. This list takes no limitations into account. If anyone cares to correct this info, or add information regarding which monsters can get which effects, please do so. Hope it's useful!

Oops! Sorry, I just realized I missed the line break for Unity. It's right between Rage and Vigor, just not separated. Posting this was a bit of a cludge; my old Amiga can't upload easily, so I emailed it to my son. When we tried to upload it from there, it erased all my html line breaks, so we had to reinsert them line by line. Sorry about the missed one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

umm.... why not just get a new computer? Ease is not capitalized as well. good compilation. Now we'll have to start referring people to this thread instead of the other ones. Is that all of them? The list seems smaller than I would expect it to be.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Locke you forgot Real which is used only by Joker Breeds!

-- Rion Beyolve (twopaclives@hotmail.com), April 08, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RNA - Re: New computer... Confucious say man with no money use tools at hand... ;^) Otherwise, the list is as complete as I could find. If I've missed any I'd appreciate it being added. Rion - Oops! Sorry about that. It's there, just another line break I missed. I'll make the corrections and upload it again when my son and I get the time.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Battle Stats To all who offered help, and advice, or just comments: Thanks! Below is my attempt to correct earlier typos. I've also taken the liberty of incorporating your answers, suggestions, and a related thread started by Hyperion Callisto called "Monsters that get the Battle Stats". You should check his thread for new additions. All whose input was used are credited below. (Only once per contributor, though some may have had more input than others...:^)

Used By: Suezo. FIGHT: After a certain amount of time with no fighting (?)once you get hit guts goes up to 99. Used By: Gaboo. FURY- when you take damage, damage goes up. Used By: Phoneix, Dragon. HUNGER: No info. Used By: Tiger, Pixie. GRIT: gives you a second chance after you[or the enemy] have been ko'ed. More than just an extra 1 hp, it also magnifies the monster's power. Used By: Mocchi, Hares, Hoppers. GUARD - defense goes up, guts regeneration goes up. Used By: Durahan, Golem. HURRY- When Time is runnning out, Guts, SKI, Damage increase. Used By: Mews, Tigers. POWER - Activated when monster takes a severe amount of damage in one hit. Once activated, affected monster's power rating raises tenfold. Use this time to make a comeback. Used By: Durahan. Used by: Joker. UNITY- (1) All that happens (i think) is it accuracy goes up and so do its guts. (2) I believe that "Unity" does a similar effect to "Real." It increases defensive stats very slightly, and also increases the chance to hit. It may lower speed, though. Used By: Color Pandora. VIGOR- When monster does certain % damage in a certain time without getting hit, gets fast guts and speed increase. Used By: Beaclon. WILL- increases your hit percentages but it also takes 2 to 2 and a half times the normal guts for that attack. Used By: Metalner.

All Evil monsters get ANGER and All Good monsters get POWER.

When information conflicted, I tried to weed out the most unlikely. If anyone cares to correct this info, or add information regarding which monsters can get which effects, please do so. Hope it's useful!

Earl, thanks for the tip- I found the Unity post and incorporated it here!

To those who've suggested I get a new computer... I may have sounded a bit negative about mine. I guess being a bit overdefensive because most people don't understand. The truth is I love that computer. I can write my own software (not too complex, just some utilities and a game or so), do sophisticated video production (until last December it was my production unit for our video business), run all types of software, etc... I've customized it over the years so that it's very much the way I want. I can make it do most anything I need, but in terms of the internet, the choices are limited. Most of the time it suits my every computing need. It multitasks, is very stable, and is hardwired into the heart of about $30,000 worth of video gear -when it was all new :^( My browser is currently 'in production', and I can only hope that the next upgrade will see fit to rectify this major weak point. I do appreciate all the concern, but it will be a while yet before I'm capable of giving up on this computer. I've even used it to make my own superhero cartoons, actual animations. (My first successful pencil test involved waking my wife at 3:00 am to show her a superhero sprinting into a forward kick flip. I never really understood why she lacked enthusiasm...) Okay, so much for 'this is my life'. Didn't mean to bore anybody. Thanks again for all the good words!

Good job Locke! Sorry it took a few days for me to get to this one. That's what I get for taking vacation!!! ...and let's remember to close our flags people!!

-- Tony (amcdaniel@riteaid.com), April 09, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry, everyone! I opened a book and learned what I thought was the bare essentials to post this in a formatted manner. I didn't read long enough to find you you have to close the commands! Hope you can read it anyway.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did that work to close flags?

-- Tony (amcdaniel@riteaid.com), April 10, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah it did. As I told you in my e-mail, it was the person who started using the bold and didn't close his HTML flags that I was referring to.

Thanks for the help, Tony! By the way, I haven't run acrosss the stat "Trying Hard", but when I try raising Mews I'll keep an eye open for it. I'll update here if I find anything else out about it.

Here a list of what Dadge say about each of the traits: POWER: "It shows it's true abilties when it's cornered"

ANGER: "It becomes easily enraged"

GRIT: "Giving up is not in it's nature"

GUARD: "It seems to know how to endure hardships"

WILL: "It's senses are very keen."

EASE: "It seems confident"

REAL: "It tends to hide it's true abilites"

FURY: "It goes completely out of control when it is angry"

FIGHT: "It is very passionate"

HURRY: "It never gives up until the last moment"

VIGOR : "It becomes easily elated"

UNITY: "They are three but have the same mind"

Did I miss any?

-- Dark Phoenix (Arax7@aol.com), April 10, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dark Phoenix, thanks for the great addition to the list! Counting them down, I don't see Rage or Hunger (I've never seen hunger, I don't have any verification of it's existence). Thanks again!
