...finally!!! greenspun.com : LUSENET : Monster Rancher 2 : One Thread -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's been 36 game-years since I've started my Project "Plaguebearer", and I've got to say that I've finally created my beat 1st-gen monster to date. Here is a brief report: NAME:Plaguebearer

7yr 0mo. 999-999-999-999-999-999 (retirement warning)

Whew, i finally did it... after 197 years of gaming, i finally got a 1st-gen monster to max-out!

My greatest thanks to everybody on this board who have helped me get through the difficulties of raising the perfect monster- RNA, Dark Phoenix, Vheod, The Man, Eagle Fierce, JellTrainer, Zack, B, Lisa, Miss Carrie... and to anybody i might have forgotten to mention... you're the best buddies a breeder could possibly have!!!

One question, though: i never thought a CD-spawned monster could live as long as 7yrs, especially with all those drugs. I just wonder how much lifespan Troron and Paradoxine actually deduct, and if all those Magic Bananas made up for the lost lifespan. Is the thread on Troron and Paradoxine still here?

I might consider retirement now... not one of my friends would even think of fighting with my monster anymore, so that leaves me with Suikoden 2 and Castlevania to complete... that is, until MR3 finally comes out!

Answers Congratualtions!!! That is incredible!! I'm already a Master Trainer, but I don't consider myself a master until I can do this. Gotta geet my $$$$$ built up first before I try.

One question for you: How do you get your monster to accept more than one itwm a week? You state in Stage 2 you start the 2 item a wk. method. I just want to know how you did this because all my monsters have never accepted more than one.

-- Tony (amcdaniel@riteaid.com), March 11, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

its Dark Phoenix's trick: he kept his monster in the freezer during the first 3 weeks of the month, then raised his monster only on the 4th week, so when the next month starts off, he gets to feed his monster a tablet(food, reduces stress and increases weight), then a Nuts oil or Magic banana(item). the monster then goes back to the freezer til the 4th of the next month, to receive an additional Tablet. for more info, check out Dark Phoenix's raising method in the raising/training category. it rocks!

WOW, that monster only starts off with a stat total of 885, and you still got it maxed out.

Ahhh...now I see. I am in the process of raising a Phoenix to get me some fundage to start one of the training methods. I know with wildcard's method you can be poor and still get a good monster supposedly, but I think the posting of RNA's, Dark Phoenix, or The Man's methods of training look more professional and easy to follow. Good detail on them. When I do get my fundage where I want it (200,000g+) then I'll probably try The Man's method with a Durahan of some kind. Possibly a purebred 1st gen or a Kelmadics (Durahan/Golem). My next step would be to combine them with my 1st gen Durahan that I got with the double-edge to combine. He was my first (and only) monster to win M4, Legend, Elder Cup, and to go in HOF. Here is a summary of his vitals: Name:Lancelot Monster Type: 1st gen Durahan Age: 9 yrs. 2 mos. old (Silver and Gold Peach) W/L/KO: 61W 3L 42KO Stats: LIF 481; POW 999; INT 419; SKI 595; SPD 184; DEF 999 Current status: In the freezer. Currently charged with 3 counts of Involuntary Manslaughter (I made him do it!!) in the slayings of Big Hand, Zilla King, and the White Suezo.

Congragulations! I'm about to become a master...Suikoden 2 rules, doesn't it? I just got the Star Dragon Sword...

-- JellTrainer (lukadjukic@yahoo.com), March 11, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

yeah... that boss, too... in Suikoden 2... the giant wolf which you have to kill off every part... damn, i couldn't seem to do so... i hate that boss!

-- MaJoBeRiDiOmEn!. (organomd@hvisions.com), March 11, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow, that Bird could have lived over 10 years had you not used all those drugs but all the banana's and things made up for the lost lifespan. That Cinder Bird has one long lifespan...

-- Vheod (Vheod@homail.com), March 11, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hey Vheod, thanks for the suggestion of starting the freezing process early. i was about to give up on this Phoenix, about to combine him at the start of the freezing process, coz the simultaneous usage of both the gold and Silver peaches (with only a week's span in between) screwed-up my Bird, and he shrunk, like RNA's Undine, and he can't get anymore off 3-star hard drills. so again, thanks, Vheod!

-- MaJoBeRiDiOmEn!. (organomd@hvisions.com), March 11, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cool, I did something right...

-- Vheod (Vheod@homail.com), March 11, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks MaJoBeRiDiOmEn!.. What for? Because of the way that you laid out your stats. It really proves to people, that you're not just making this stuff up. I just hope that others will follow your example. The thread for paradoxine: "Drug Report: PARADOXINE" from the "items" category.

The thread for troron: "Report on the effect of TRORON" from the "items" category.

I always thought that a cinder bird had alot of potential. Too bad I don't have any of the cds to produce one myself. I believe you are the first to max out a 1st gen monster!

-- RNA (RNA@Ribosome.nuc), March 12, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- Rion Beyolve (twopacliveson@hotmail.com), March 12, 2000.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
