Vindication?

With nasdaq closing down 25% from its recent high (according to the CNN talking heads), I thought those that scoff at astrology might find this interesting:

Congratulations!

How about someone born 5/8/66 at 11:45 p.m.?

Please.

Ah to be 33, going on 34, again!

-- (nemesis@awol.com), April 12, 2000.

Ooooooh, I just LOVE it when they talk 'dirty' like that.

-- Stocks (GoingUp@Down.com), April 12, 2000.

To be 34? I've been 34 twice now. What's so hot about that? However, the second 34 isn't as much fun as the first was.

Born 5/8/66, well, 'ya like to be boss, can be very practical, very, very family oriented, can schmooze most anyone into doing what 'ya want, quite healthy, and most likely will live a long life. At least two children, maybe three.

So much for 5/8/66.

LunaC:

Yes. yes. yes. I was wrong and you were right. It has played out exactly as you said it would. I was one of your more vigorous detractors on that thread, but, as always, there is a lesson to be learned in keeping an open mind.

If I am honest with myself, one of my main motives in contradicting you was fear; I did not want the markets to tumble so far. I still do not see a total crash, but 25% is a big hit. With an over 80% gain last year, however, this is not all that scary in the long run.

The lesson is, keep emotions out of analysis of mundane events.

Thanks again for your original post.

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), April 12, 2000.

LunaC, thanks for your posts!

The NASDAQ chart is most informative, especially the mars/jupiter/neptune conjunction in Sag showing how prone it is to being reckless and over-confident. I always think of Custer when I see so much Sag. Can you provide the data for the DOW Jones chart, please?

I'm sure you noticed that the Mars Jupiter conjunction last week corresponded with the most volatile trading in stock market history, so I have been wondering if the Mars Saturn conjunction will actually shut down the market temporarily. Bloodbath? It's a painful aspect, no doubt about it.

Then we can look forward to May, with the mega Taurus action, Saturn square Uranus, and Jupiter Saturn conjunction. My highest hope is that this will bring the focus back to reality and demand a fundamental global re-evaluation of existing resources, true financial worth and long term sustainability. This is urgent before we as a species rocket any further into the Aquarian Age. I would like to hear your take on this.

BTW Ray Merriman, the well known financial astrologer, has researched several Jupiter/Saturn cycles and says they always correspond to at least a recession, if not a depression. I think he's more worried about Saturn square Uranus occuring at the same time, though, with its potential for conflict and war.

Interesting times.

Future Shock - It's not really a matter of right or wrong, just one of perspective. If you had been reading a personal chart your interpretation would have had validity but with mundane matters being read a little differently, well, we just had an exchange of ideas that hopefully broadened your knowledge base. The beauty of astrology's many branches is that no matter how much you know, there's always something *else* of interest to be added to the arsenal. In any event, I appreciate your mea culpa even though it wasn't necessary.

Aspectress - last week's volatility in the market and quickie-crash could be attributed to Uranus (unexpected, explosive, unpredictable and ruling technology) transiting the Nasdaq Sun (focus)in the 11th (the masses). I think the Mars (energy) and Jupiter (expasion) conjunction in Taurus (stability) kept it from sinking even farther into the basement as far as general sentiment is concerned.

The more I sit and deliberate this Friday's Mars conjunct Nasdaq's Saturn, I'm wondering if this will just end up being a day of frustration rather than lighting the TNT. I guess I'll know in 24 hrs. lol

As for the Dow's chart data: May 26, 1896 9:00 AM EST New York, New York Longitude 73 W 57 Latitude 40 N 45

It's interesting to note that the Dow and Nasdaq have a "shared degree". In the Dow chart the Moon is at 1 Sag in the 5th and in the Nasdaq chart Neptune is at 2 Sag and Jupiter is at 3 Sag in the 8th. It will be an enlightening exercise to see how both markets react when these sensitive points are aspected. Specifically watch May 6-8 as Mars creates an opposition to the Moon, Neptune, and Jupiter in their respective charts. The word "repression" immediately springs to mind because of Mars wanting to activate things but the opposition preventing it from doing so easily. In terms of the markets, "stagnation" might be an appropriate description.

Hi Luna,

Could you please send me your email addy. I am Dee from the Old TB2000 Board. I never got the chance to thank you for your response on the old board. =)

Well, so much for that! Let's try again.

Uncanny.... I must say.

-- Debbie (dbspence@usa.net), April 14, 2000.

Richard,

Aren't you stretching it a bit given you don't know the ascendent?

-- Starman (starman@astro.zone), April 14, 2000.

Starman - IIRC I think Richard uses numerology so he doesn't need to know the Ascendant.

As for next week's Nasdaq, I don't see any positive influences so I anticipate the market will probably sink even further. I can post the upcoming aspects if anybody's interested.

-- LunaC (LunaC@LunaC.com), April 15, 2000.

LunaC:

Please do post the aspects. As far as my mea culpa, I just think that if I publically err I should publically fess up to it.

Wow. Black Friday. Just as you had predicted. Were you short in the market??

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), April 15, 2000.

Are you people serious, or just having fun fucking around?

-- Peter Errington (petere@ricochet.net), April 15, 2000.

Peter - we're just trying to annoy you and it seems to be working.

Future Shock - Monday morning Nasdaq will open with Venus (money, values) opposition (difficulty) Uranus (unexpected, unsettling) in the 7th (international partners). Watch the international markets and their effect on U.S. trading. But don't expect to hear the full story until Mercury (communication, news) is opposite Uranus on Thursday. "Unsettling information" is the key concept here with the Sun also squaring Mercury in the 11th (the masses). Joe Public generally doesn't react well to bad news so look for the Little Guys to be getting out of the market.

Tuesday we have Mars (the trigger) in the 2nd (money) squaring natal Sun in the 11th (the masses) and Wednesday Mars will be squaring transiting Uranus in the 11th. LOTS of difficult energy being directed to the 11th house of the masses, hopes, dreams and goals. I expect more selling as folks feel more and more unsettled and uncertain.

Yup, I expect the downtrend to continue next week, although not with the same intensity as we saw last Friday.

Other dates to watch:

April 30 - Saturn (loss) in the 2nd (money) square Sun in the 11th (the masses). Expect another dip around this time. Pessimism abounds.

May 2nd - Enjoy a brief rally as Mars in the 2nd (money) trines (benefits) Pluto (change). This will probably be a shortlived enthusiasm.

May 7 and 8 - Mars in the 2nd (money) opposes Neptune (illusions) in the 8th (debts, shared resources), followed by Neptune retrograde in the 11th. This will be the time that you'll smell the fear in the air as fantasies give way to confusion and doubt. Lots of difficult activity in the money houses.

May 13 - Saturn (loss) in the 2nd (money) squares (difficulty) transiting Uranus (shake-ups) in the 11th (Joe Public) while Jupiter (over-indulgence) in the 2nd (money) square natal sun in the 11th (the masses). Can you say Margin Call?

May 14 - SIX planets (Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Sun, Mercury and Mars) are all in the natal 2nd house. Money, money, money will be THE focus of this time.

May 18 - 19 Expect lots of volatility as Mars in the 2nd opposes natal Mars and transiting Pluto in the 8th. This may very well be a fiery crash and burn.

May 24 - Uranus goes retrograde. Expect extreme volatility and difficult trading.

After the dust settles, expect a brief rise in the market until June 15th when Mars triggers a square (difficulty) with Pluto (destruction). But this slump is shortlived as the influence of Jupiter (expansion) trines (benefits) transiting Pluto (change) on June 26 brings the market back up until July 6 when Mars squares Uranus in the 11th. (explosive!)

Mid July - Jupiter opposite Jupiter - this signals the mid-point of Jupiter's 12 year cycle. The expansion of the past several years has concluded and it's somewhat down-hill from here for the next six years until a new Jupiter cycle resumes.

July 23 - Watch out for this one! Pluto Rx (destruction/crisis) conjuncts Mars (explosive) in the 8th (debts/joint resources). Expect heavy downward movement.

August brings another reminder of what we've seen these past few weeks as Rx Uranus once again visits a conjunction with the Sun in the 11th. Expect the same type of high volatility and loss that we saw on April 4th.

August 25 brings Mars in the 5th (speculation) making its first square (difficulty) to Saturn (loss) after the April 14th bloodbath. Expect another downturn, although not as harsh as previously seen.

Generally speaking, I expect this market to continue a slow and steady decline with some dramatic hits along the way.

For those not familiar with astrology, the influence of Mars will be felt a day or two before and after the dates indicated. The effects of all other slower moving "outer" planets can be felt for a week or so before and after but will be strongest on the dates indicated.

LunaC:

THanks so much for your time and effort with these aspects. I am learning a good deal, and look forward to tracking these activities.

Peter:

Many have exclaimed the market was going to tank over the last year (s). Only LunaC was accurate TO THE DAY!.

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), April 16, 2000.

"Only LunaC was accurate TO THE DAY!."

Since we're new here, can someone please show us where s/he put that in writing in the past?

Many thanks.

-- (Burt @nd .Ernie), April 16, 2000.

Burt and Ernie:

Did you cut and paste the url in LunaC's post and look at what she predicted??

Let me know if you need a hotlink-I will find someone who can do it.

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), April 16, 2000.

Luna C.

In your astrological calendar you fail to highlight the May 5th problem that has been so profoundly publicized. Whats up with that? Are you not concerned that large objects will be lined-up with Uranus on that date? Just curious.

-- Ra (tion@l.1), April 16, 2000.

Ra - In order to answer your question I first need to give a bit of background on how astrologers make predictions...

Astrologers use a person's date, time and location of birth to create a map of the heavens called a "natal" chart. As the planets at the time of birth move forward in time (transit) they create angular relationships with the natal chart. Each planet, sign, house and angle in a chart has a particular meaning that the astrologer uses to essentially paint a picture of what's going on at any point in time.

The Nasdaq chart didn't have any major transits to its natal chart for May 5th which is why that date didn't show up in my predictions.

-- LunaC (LunaC@LunaC.com), April 16, 2000.

LunaC,

Thanks again for more predictions. You really got me going now. Too bad this link is about to scroll of the page.

Your predictions are for the NASDAQ, are you going to do the Dow next? I have been looking per the data you provided (thanks again) and it's simply stunning -- more so than the NASDAQ, i think.

For one, take a look at 5/28/00, which is close to its solar return -- the Dow is having a progressed new moon in the second house squaring some nasty 11th house action, Pluto oppose Pluto, ETC, and all on the same day as the Jupiter Saturn conjunction. Yowza!

We are looking at a substantial restructuring of the Dow at least, and therefore probably the entire market economy, if you ask me. I don't know much about mundane or financial astrology, though, so I am not comfortable making specific predictions yet myself. I hope you have the time to take a look at the Dow and let us know what you think. And please start it as a new thread.
