-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

hi there!

Blast it, got a doggy phone call about twenty minutes ago - and I just couldn`t get her off the phone. So what`s happening in the match?

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

I`m assuming no score yet! Right - Hi Pete, hi Deb!

Sounds a bit of a dirty match.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Filthy weather too. Torrential rain and sleet everywhere!

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

In the cricket we just got Kallis out. YES!!!!!! In the fotball Newcastle attacking all the time Shearer had best chance, but the commentater lost it so I'm not sure what happened. Boys going strong.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Hi Galaxy-

Sounds like a continuation from Sunday. We cannot finish, I believe Shearer missed or hit the post while you were "unavailable".

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Yes, I`m listening to the webcast now - he seems to be struggling with the names! He must have been for an early pint. Pleased you`re enjoying the cricket - not one of my specialist subjects I`m afraid - but I gather you`re quite pleased with how it`s going! (:o)

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Thanks Pete - I know you`re not supposed to think that there are any `easy` matches, but I was really expecting us to kick some butt tonight! (:o) Never mind, there`s another half to go.

Oh bugger, Dabs is injured. (:o(

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Off to make a half time coffee - see ya in the second half! (:o)

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Wait, I missed that one, Dabs is hurt? Can't be, he's made of steel!

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Yes Pete just before the whistle dabs went down, & that's all we know commentater switched off mic and went for a ...... whatever.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

I honestly can't rememeber him ever missing a game for health reasons.

Well, Dabs or no Dabs, we have got to win this game.

It looks like all our regulars are at the match!

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Sorry Deb, didn`t hear - I keep losing the webcast, it`s hissing and breaking up a lot. What did you think he said?

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Hello everyone. Listening to the webcast. Obviously a West Ham commentator. With NTL coming in next season, will they also start running the webcast? Hope they do a better job.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Is Dabizas badly hurt?

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Hi Barry. They certainly couldn`t do a worse job than this bloke! Bit concerned that they seem to be putting us under so much pressure - COME ON LADS! Lets have another black and white goal!!!! (:o)

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Crowd only 25000. Not surprising at #31.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Webcast is not clear @ commentater is worse but it was something something newcastle fans. It didn't sound positive.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Sorry Barry, but we haven`t been told what the injury is - only that he did it to himself. (:o(

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Newcastle fans soaked to the skin - perhaps? (:o) Wet, p.ssed off, and #31 out of pocket? Who knows what this guy`s trying to say!

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Come on -let's keep the season alive. We've got to beat teams like West Ham if we're going to get up to 7th (or 6th). Let's have that goal!

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Given seems to be making some good saves! Phew!! Another close shave! COME ON BOYS we need some more points!!!!!!!!!!!

Bliddy Lahndaan. Hate the f***ing place. Nuke it.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

The webcast is at pnm://media05.theplanet.net/sports/whufc/whufc.ra But too late now. I am fed up. Evening all

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Not 100 per cent certain of the full line up - I`ve been having trouble with the webcast. That is a really awful result. I feel very sorry for our supporters tonight, I feel bad enough sitting here warm and dry, and not having made any effort to get to the match, other than pressing a few buttons! The Toon Army must be feeling pretty miserable. (:o(

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Oh well - goodnight folks! Speak to you all next time! (:o(

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Toon Army? Based on the comments about the weather tonight, I think they've changed codes and are now the Toon Navy (Submarines). As I said B4, nuke the bliddy place once they've left.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

not the best few days two defeats out of the cup out of a possible if unlikely UEFA slot via the league Helder,Dabizas,Gallacher injured Ferguson out for the season? Well they say it never rains but it pours Always hated bloody London

To Pete. Season over?..... looking a bit that way isn`t it (:(

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Pete..........Marcelino pulled out of the Resorves match on Monday neet. Oot for a couple of weeks as well.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

I hope our injuries are not too serious. Sounded like atrocious playing conditions. Goodnight Galaxy, goodnight all.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

How did we play? Apart from the fact that we lost?

I have only just got in.

Jay

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Dirty stop-out, Jay!!

Apparently, we played well in the first half, hitting the bar twice. We deserved wor lead but then seemed to go under the cosh - maybe as a reaction to Sunday's match.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

To be honest Jay, it was practically impossible to tell from the commentary. I am waiting for some match reports to appear on here. I have to say I felt really sorry for the supporters who went tonight, they must be gutted! (:(

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

I listened to the game on Metro FM. The lineup was as expected (posted on another thread) the same team that played so well against Chelsea with the exception of Goma coming in for Howey We didn't start to well and sounded a bit shaky for the first 10 minutes. After that though Newcastle really got into the game. They played as well as they did in the second half against Chelsea and could easily have been 2 - 0 up by half time. We hit the bar twice. the first one was laid on by Dyer, who found Domi in the box. The ball was struck and it came from the underside of the bar,and bounced on the line. 10 minutes later Shearer struck the bar with a header and Craig Forest just managed to push the rebound out for a corner. Newcastle again dominated and it was just a matter of time until they scored. The Newcastle goal arrived in the second minute of the second half. Gary Speed the scorer, unusually with his feet. Dabizas was taken off after he failed to shake off an injury sustained in the later stages of the first half he was replaced by Howey Harry Redknapp made a couple of changes, bringing on Paulo Wanchope and reverting from a 3 - 5 - 3 to a 4 - 3 - 3 system. The tactical change seem to do the business and West Ham immediately came back into the game. It was end to end stuff on a slippery wet night. Wanchope got the equaliser scoring from a tight angle at the back post. They got stronger as Newcastle weary from the semi final encounter on Sunday started to fade and in the last couple of minutes Wanchope made it two one for the hammers. It was a devastating blow for Newcastle who had hoped to climb within a place of Sunderland in the league. European qualification now looks like a very longshot, although catching the makems is still a possibility.

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

Do you reckon that Shearer was talking about London and not Wembley the other day?

-- Anonymous, April 12, 2000

What a week, how many times this season have we been leading and gone on to lose?

:-(

-- Anonymous, April 13, 2000

I blame Scratchy me.......this is his second 'live' game in as many weeks, the last one was Liverpool.....what have to two games got in common? QED......

BTW Screacher.....if you are sending in the cruise missiles, can you give me a ring first so I can get out of here before the four minute warning.........ah well......ten days till I go to the Golden City, roll on the 22nd........any tickets for Leeds on the 23rd gratefully recieved......is it on Sly or has it just been moved because of the EUFA cup match?

-- Anonymous, April 13, 2000

Blame me for the loss folks.

I am sorry to report as I was out last night on a cultural experience Lar de Dar.

I couldn't wear my 'lucky' red match day outfit.

One again sorry to all concerned :o(

Jay head hung in shame
