Disc Chips according to Tecmo's Web Site
I am back again with a translation(mucho thanx to my Japanese friends) of what disc chips do when used as secret seasoning.

Disc Chips, other than increasing your chance of getting that monster, also have other subtle effects, which differs from the first game in which boosted the appropiate stat. Here are the effects according to breed, plus or minus a few discs...

Tiger Disc - Concentration (???), possibly a tiger exclusive battle special

Hopper - Fat/skinny -50 (I really have no idea what this means)

Hare - Adds grit battle special to a monster

Kato - +1 symbol on meditate drills

Suezo - Adds ease battle special (I think)

Naga - Skill +50

Gaboo - Adds Fight battle special

Jell - +1 symbol on endure drills

Niton - +1 symbol on swimming drills

Plant - +10 weeks added to a monster's life span

Mew - Trying Hard (I think its a Mew battle special)

Mocchi - Popularity +50

Zuum - +1 symbol on run drills

Arrowhead - Unknown

Ape - +1 symbol at Parepare Errantry

Monol - +50 Defense

Pixie - +50 intelligence

Dragon - Unknown

Centaur - +1 symbol at Mandy Errantry

Color Pandora - +50 spoil effect

Beaclon - +1 symbol on Pull drills

Henger - +1 symbol on Shoot drills

Wracky - +1 symbol on leap drills

Golem - +50 power

Durahan - +1 symbol on domino drills

Baku - fat/skinny +50 (I don't know what this means)

Gali - good/bad +50 (I don't know this either)

Zilla - +1 symbol at Torble Sea Errantry

Bajarl - Adds vigor battle special

Phoenix - +1 symbol at Kawrea Errantry

Ghost - +1 symbol on dodge drills

Metalner - Fear effect +50

Jill - +1 symbol at Papas Errantry

Joker - good/bad -50 (don't know what this means)

Undine - +1 symbol on studying drills

Mock - +10 weeks added to a creature's life span

Ducken - +50 speed

Wow! This is very interesting. Thanks!

Yay! Thanks a million. I've been waiting for a list like that. I'm glad that they made Disk Chips have a more interesting effect than they had in MR1.

I'm still curious about the ones for things like "+50 popularity/fear/whatever." Could they mean a +50% bonus? And maybe the ones that say "good/bad" means that it will randomly skew the resulting monster one way or the other. Hm...

with the good/bad, and fat/skinny effects that the disc chips have, I am guessing that if its a + sign, it makes them good/fat depending on the effect of the disc. If its a - sign, it makes the monster skinny/bad. For example a hopper disc would make the monster skinny and a gali disc would make the monster good.

B. go ahead and add all the translated data to whatever MR2 resource you are compiling. That would include this and the food effects. It would be great if all information on item effects were in one place.

I have noticed my resulting monsters are more bad natured when using the Joker disc. Here is a list of prices and finding locations I've partially completed. I gave it to Silver Henger for his site but I don't think that should stop you from using it too if you want to BCampbell T= TORLES K=KAWREA P=PAREPARE BREED FOUND COST Pixie P 1000 G Dragon K 2000 G Centaur P 2000 G ColorPandora P 500 G Beaclon P 500 G Henger "T,P" 1000 G Wracky K 1500 G Golem K,P" 500 G Zuum P 500 G Durahan Arrowhead "T,P" 500 G Tiger P 500 G Hopper P 500 G Hare "T,P" 500 G Baku P 500 G Gali P 1000 G Kato Zilla Bajarl P 1000 G Mew P 1000 G Phoenix K 2000 G Ghost P 1000 G Metalner "T,K" 1500 G Suezo "K,P" 500 G Jill T 1500 G Mocchi T 500 G Joker K 1500 G Gaboo Jell K 500 G Undine K 1000 G Niton P 500 G Mock T 2000 G Ducken Plant T 1500 G Monol T 500 G Ape P Worm "T,P" 500 G Naga

zoinks i think the +,- 50 for good/bad... mean they would raise the level from nuetral to good or bad to worst... that is just what i think because on stats 50 represents a level raise.

Dragon chips give Fury battle special.

I think "Trying Hard" is "Hurry" in the U.S. (I sometimes see nicolle using it).
