What's the difference between expecting a lot from yourself, and being overly self-critical?

How can a person maintain a healthy balance between staying motivated and feeling bad about not accomplishing "enough"? How do we define "enough," anyway?

A person has to find for themselves what they want to be "enough," thats the only "enough" that makes any difference in the long run. If you find what that is and work towards it, you'll be happy just in the challenge of succeeding, and when you do succeed it will be worth even more. Failure can be hard, but you have to remember that no failure can be too terrible if you live through it; there's really no way to help a person do that you just have to do it yourself. Maybe all we've got is this life, so enjoy it even if it doesn't turn out exactly as you wanted... thats all you CAN do.
