I am looking to purchase a digital camera to take pictures of small items to place on my website. I'm concerned with the need for high quality pictures that will show depth and color with an easy download at a mid-range price. I'd prefer some creative control over exposure and focus.

Any sugggestions?

nikon 900 or 950. Lighting is the most important part.

I suggest the Oly 2020Z or the Nikon 950. Both were top of the line. I use the 2020Z myself and it has great macro capabilities but i've read that the nikon 950 allows for even closer shots. Check them out, I'm sure you will find great bargains now that newer and fancier models are out (or soon to be out).
