I've heard about a new model that Sony will soon distribute,.... anyone knows something about this ??

Only thing I've heard is rumors. I think this model might have the ability to attach external flash. That's all I know. Doesn't sound like something to wait for. I use slave flash (via wein trigger) on my 505 without problems.

Maybe sony will get smart and put red eye comp on it. I dream they would come out with a 3 megapix version but I have no info at all like that. Frankly right now it looks like sony is neglecting this model, unless they're doing uncommonly good at keeping the plan secret.

I've searched for info yesterday and I only find this link with info about something called F505V,.... but the page is from sony netherland and I can't understand it.

Ok, I did not know that Sony was going to revamp the 505(hey, maybe that V stands for reVamp ;) )

Second, what's this big deal with More and more pixels? 3? 4? isn't 1.5 or 2 enough? You still can't equal the quality of 35mm much less 2 1/4 film. My second digicam will be the Mavica FD95 it has features that the 505 doesn't. And is based on a great camera.

David, just look at some good size printouts, and you'll see the reason why it matters. And digital does have the quality of 35mm if the printouts are small enough. :)

I got some more rumors on this cam. It's expected in september. I'm glad sony is doing a 2nd run on the 505 with a slightly updated version. Too bad it's not 3megapix, or is it? We'll see...
