Ciara is a Scouser(?)

Just popped into yet another Easy Everything(love this place!) with Dougal after watching an entertaining Boro v Newton Heath game. We were also 'entertained' during the second half by a misguided cockney manc(who couldn't be arsed to turn up for the first half when they were played off the park) who took offense to my bawling for Keane to be carded and began muttering about me being a Scouser.

Buh?! American accent and NUFC tshirt. Riiiiight. :-)

Priceless night had by Ciara et moi in that famous outpost of the Manchester empire, the Cambridge pub on Cambridge Circus, W1, London. Watched the game, frankly not really minding who won. First half, main entertainment came from an Irish lass and her boyfriend. "Didn't Bobby Robson used to play for Manchester United"? she asked when Sky focused on the face of the Smoggies' manager. Then, after half time, these "supporters" of Man United appeared from the woodwork, roaring for Ferguson's Moaning Men. I was getting well twitchy but decided to shut up as I couldn't be arsed to have an argument. However, I gather that these little treasures accused one or both of us of being Scousers. F**k off: we're about as Scouse as you're a Manc. Cheeky gets. You have to larf though - the assumption that anyone who hates them must be a Scouser. They all diappeared the second the final whistle blew and we were left to meditate on the missed chant opportunities. Same old Bosnich, always moaning. Grrr. Oh, but one of them went to Madrid. Yeah, right, with Suntours for a fortnight when you were 17. And it was probably Mallorca you were thinking of.
