santa monica // shake along with me

greenspun.com : LUSENET : It's All About Joe 90: The Discussion Board : One Thread

i'm behind, i know. forgive me :] i'm going to try to make this a big catching up shell.

to start with - friday was the LA show. yay. Kathy flew in and then we headed up to Santa Monica. i really like the arcadia. i don't know how many times i can say that.

i believe the set list (if memory serves), went like this. blurred, ferris wheel, when you arrive, reachin , flatline static, drive, truth, GET BACK whee, dig a pony, one after 909, i got a feeling and :weep: such is life. i believe :]

it was all fabulous as always, but the beatles songs made me EXTRA happy. even if they didn't throw in don't let me down (the one i REALLY wanted to hear. hehe.) - and such is life is like, the best song ever. no really it is. umm. immy played on a lot of the songs, and adam d. sang on a few. umm. lets see.

it was good :] the girls behind me were cute. they didn't know the beatles songs and kept reassuring each other that they *would* play november bombs. whoops. chris kept pointing out his broken finger. "i broke the bones in me finger!" aww. hehe. um. but you couldnt tell. it was a great show. i thought they sounded great. and i had a nice time with everyone. even though watching gary get mad is slightly frightening :]

umm. saturday i took kathy on the "i hate LA" tour and made her hate it even more. hahaha. i love driving down trafficy sunset and getting called "bug girl." hah. then. ohhhh. ive been like angsty girl lately. i was furious when the radio wouldnt play the correct celine song. and after i dropped kathy off at the airport, my car fucking DIED on the way home (yay i got to skip work. hah). and i was in my PJs and i had forgotten my cell phone. i was in a left hand turn lane so i pushed my car into a gas station all by myself. i was so proud. haha. and i just got out and did it. i didnt panic or anything. and some guy came over to help me when i was almost done and it pissed me off. just cos im a girl, out in PINK pajamas, doesnt mean i cant push my own fucking car thank you very much. anyhow. i dont like being car-less.

and tonight i went and saw oasis. yay. travis was so incredibly good. i had heard they were, but i definitley walked away a fan. it has been so long since ive been to a non joe90 show. like 5 months. with my concert buddy in spain i've had no desire to go to any shows. and it kind of took me back to my bripop roots. i missed running around at all those fucker shows. i missed blur. heh. but yeah. travis. they won me over with their cover of "hit me baby one more time." which was actually beautiful and you all woulda loved it. and oasis was really good too :] slightly dissapointing, but you know. still good. and aimee, i DID want to kick someone in the head during who feels love. hahahaha.

but at the show i managed to bump into two of my favorite people, and it made for a really nice night :]

as for the nutshell - kristin! :x. i hope everything works out and that you ... well, that it works out! ahh! thats so scary. car trouble is not fun. but so far from home :x thats scary. vibes man. vibes.

indy - yay i'm glad you all had so much fun and survived and everything ":] sounds like quite an adventure. thanks for posting reviews girls. i can't wait to see photos :]

thank you to kelly for being so fun and informative with the channel 103.1 photos. you know, i set my alarm to wake up and tape that damn thing, but im not a morning person and i just hit snooze. i would love a copy of it. from what i heard about it it sounded really good!

my friend is having heart surgery in a few hours. im so scared for her. shes one of those REALLY strong people, and when this whole problem came around she crumbled. i really hope shes alright :x. oh god. shes only 28 too :[

and ummmmm. ohhhhhh. okay now for my photos. hahaha. i scanned in my photos from the show on friday. not a big fan of them this time around. i think i've lost any creativity i had. but i put together a photography site in general, so if you go there they're the most recent joe90 shots. feel free to give me any comments. at least let me know if you checked em' out.

um. and that was my nutshell. hah. sorry i didn't write more about the show. love and miss and smoooooooooosh you all.

erin, i think your pictures are beautiful*. and im NOT just saying that to be nice....the last 6 are my favorites. love them, and thank you :)

i don't know how much longer i'm going to be able to stand my death and dying class. we've been watching videos of dying/sick people for like, 3 weeks now. i can understand the importance of the videos, but why do we have to watch them ALL at once?! its heartbreaking. but on the video we watched today, there was this woman who told about her husband's death. he had leukemia, and died right before their 2 yr wedding anniversary. the way she spoke of her husband, and his death, was just beautiful. she was the only one, out of all the people on the video, who had no remorse in her voice over what happened. it was so incredible. and she recalled how during their last few moments together, he said to her "you're so strong" and she smiled at him and said "i don't know if i'm strong without you".....but i think she answered her own question. i dunno, it just was really very touching.

ok enough sad stuff.

reasons why i love sue: 1) she sends me fun bootlegs in the mail 2) she is funny 3) she is nice 4) SHE SENT ME THE FEMALE ELVIS PROMO SINGLE THINGY!!!!!!!!!! you don't underSTAND, i nearly had a heart attack. i kissed it. im going to kiss it again. im going to sleep with it under my pillow. yay!

i love sue, yes i do, doo bee doo bee doo bee doo.

i love most of the rest of ya too, don't get me wrong....but today is officially sue day.

now i have two things to tell erin 1) on saturday it was 70 degrees here. yesterday it snowed. there was ice and stuff in the puddles this morning. and some snow stuck once you got up around holyoke, which is about 5 miles north. i thought of you, cause you were all excited about the snow when we were driving home from the airport back in february. and you asked us if we had like, snowplows and stuff, lol*

2) i saw travis open for ben folds five like, 3 years ago. i didn't like them then, but everyone is talking about them now. they did give out free stickers though. i remember putting it on my homework notebook. ha. weird. i hear their song on the radio a lot too. its good.

i know a lot of people read this.....but i decided to tell everyone about my college thing. like people who DON'T read this. everyone has been nice and stuff, which is good. im kinda freaking out though. im scared to make the committment and send in my financial aid stuff. and my other papers. i feel like everyone is doubting me, this being the second time around and all. its frightening. its exciting and stuff too.....but yanno. eek.

im off to eat massive amounts of ring dings. im a fan of ring dings.

i hope kristin's car is save-able ::::crosses fingers::::

normally i would yell at erin about not reviewing well enough, but i was there so i dont have to :)

that was an awesome show! very exhausting though, especially having to sit through 3 opening acts! ugggh i hated that doritos bitch. gary pissed was slightly scary, but he had good reason. should have thrown her off the bill completely. the other 2 werent too bad, and one of the bands had a guitarist who completely reminded me of dave gibbs. i miss him! while they were playing, i commented that i wasnt really into female singers (which the band had), and right after that he started singing. it was cool.

joe 90's set was really good, it was cool to hear all the beatles stuff again. and nice to see adam up there, i hadn't expected that. too bad his mic didnt even seem to be on, i couldnt hear him at all! he sang on all the beatles songs and alot of the joe 90 ones though, just sitting in a chair on the corner of the stage... immergluck was up there for most of it too, which added to the songs. i wish they'd played dont let me down too, that's such a great song! oh well, what they did play was great.

we hung around for awhile afterwards and got to meet the wives and girlfriends who all seemed really nice. and had our conversations interrupted by adam the rock star on a constant basis. that was annoying. but whatever. i dont like LA. and even more so after erin's tour, showing me all the clubs where people were congregating in black clothes and smoking and trying to look cool. and then we made fun of some guys who were checking out people in other cars while they were driving, and i was asking what they'd do if they found someone they liked, tell them to pull over? and erin said she'd actually seen that happen, which i thought was hilarious. and then 5 minutes later, there's a car full of guys a few lanes away, not even in the same direction, and someone yells "hey bug girls! are you going to the palace?". it was really really funny. something that would only happen in LA.

anyway, thanks for scanning the pics erin, i really like them, especially that one of adam... and thank you so much for letting me stay with you and everything, i had a great time! to everyone else, sorry this review sucked :) hope your car's ok, kristin!

i have never been to la, but i think it would scare me. i am so very east coast.

ahhhhhh. i can actually hear gary singing in ferris wheel on this boot. i never can live. awww. i love this :]

okay sorry. to respond - jenn, i had forgotten oasis was on leno! and i forgot again! its 2am now. oh well. haha. but thank you :]

>> thought of you, cause you were all excited about the snow when we were driving home from the airport back in february. and you asked us if we had like, snowplows and stuff, lol* <<

well! how the fuck am i supposed to know! haha. but NOTHING was better than the frozen ponds. oh my god. those are so beautiful. i just remember flying over cleveland all snowy and it didnt seem real. im not a snow girl okay.

what is a death and dying class? ive never heard of that. sounds kinda cool. like the kinda class i could take and complete. hrm.

what are ring dings? they sound scary.

kathy commented that she wasnt really into female singers. okay thats the understatement of the year. haha. UNTIL VANESSA WILLIAMS COMES ON! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. i was there, i know man. we bonded. over save the best for last. hahahahaha. that was awesome. i still havent heard phil :[

>>what are ring dings? they sound scary. <<

whoa, you dont know what ring dings are?? you have no right to make fun of me for not knowing about otter pops then :) they're the same as ho hos. although little debbie's snack cakes are a much better version of either one of those. do you have combos out here? i had a craving for them a few weeks ago and could not find them in the grocery store or anywhere!! on the east coast they sell them at every gas station.

lol... well that's a nostalgia song! it was my favorite when i was 10. its so weird to hear songs like that and realize you still know all the lyrics. though i dont think i quite realized how cheesy they were at the time. however, i still prefer vanessa williams to all the generic lilith crap. but now we're standing face to face... isn't this world a crazy place?
