Sadness in Seattle

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Just got back from Seattle. What a game, what a great game. Spent the afternoon (after the match) being interviewed by Seattle Police. They knew I had been a witness to the most blatant theft of the new millenium, but eventually said they could do nowt about it. A jurisdictional thing. Said they would contact Interpol and have that baldy little coach of theirs interrogated. They stole thirty odd thousand cup final tickets from us.

Devastated but Proud of the lads. What a game. What a game !!

Chin up Pete! We`ve managed to lose a semi final, and come out of it smelling of roses! High praise flying around all over the place! Even the post match interviews with non-NUFC personnel sounded genuine. Totally impressed with the players, manager and supporters! No doubt in my mind that we have definately turned the corner now, and have a great platform for next year. (:o)

Too early to talk of next year, when with a little luck and great determination we can climb the table and obtain the last place in the Uefa Cup.I thought the Trafalgar Arms would implode when Lee crashed that unstoppable header into the net. Until the dying seconds I thought we might snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. It was a magnificent effort. In the end the quality of the Chelsea squad told. They could bring on a Zola and our best was Ketsbaia. I would have gone for Gavilan, but who am I to second guess the genius of Bobbie Robson. Howay the Lads.
