Helping to Prove My Point

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

In another thread I made a small bet about what the likely response would be to the same post on EZBoard and here. Take a look at this thread on EZBoard now:

http://pub5.ezboard.com/fyourdontimebomb2000.showMessage?topicID=2546.topic

It's about a guy named William Thomas and his new "report" on Chemtrails. He is described as a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist. I can't find his name listed anywhere as a prize winner and his own web site doesn't make any reference to his being a Pulitzer winner. It does make a lot of references to the usual conspiracy/NWO/chemtrails stuff so dearly loved by some.

The report contains numerous inaccuracies for such a reputed "intensive" investigation, including refering to the supposed analysis of chemtrail debris by a lab in Ohio. This report was a pure fabrication and has been debunked by every unbiased investigation yet Mr. Thomas repeats it again.

Of the 25 responses to this thread, there is only one that refutes the author. My bet was that there would be two or less reponses that would refute such a posting or ask for documentation. Of course, the poster was immediately attacked as being either a gubmint agent or an idiot after providing a link that contains some pretty good data refuting most of the allegations in Mr. Thomas's report.

This is as a good an illustration as I know of about the differences between the two boards.

It's the same old cycle. Yourdon's board has a hiccup, Debunky & Biffy have an orgasm. Course they're dead but the orgasms go on and on and on (feeling lucky?) and on here. What the loving hell do you care about what they talk about? Mystifies.

Carlos:

You are coming in on the tail end of this. There have been several posts the list week which look at the differences between the boards, one in which I posted statistics which showed the number of posts on each board to be nearly equal. This is natural when a dysfunctional family breaks up-We look at the differences to find out more information about ourselves.

I do not know what Jim's agenda may be, but I find this experiment interesting, and the results completely expected.

Carlos, If you would like to debunk the debunkers, and you have not read through all the threads on this topis the list week, I invite you to do so now.

Carlos:

As FS pointed out, this has to do with an earlier thread discussing differences in attitude and life outlook between the posters at both boards. I stated this in the opening sentence of my post. This has nothing to do with pollies vs doomers or debunkers vs TB200.

The point is that there are those who seem willing to accept almost any theory no matter how ludicrous without demanding any verification that the theory is true. If you read the posts here you'll rarely find a thread where nearly everyone agrees or that some proof for allegations or theories isn't requested. At EZBoard, it tends to be exactly the opposite. I think it's important to understand this in light of information presented there.

BTW, if you hadn't noticed, both Debunkers and BIFFY are gone.

The results of the forum split are very interesting

Carlos,

AMEN!!

My bet was that there would be two or less reponses that would refute such a posting...

You definitely called it correctly Jim. In fact, your use of the words "two or less" was incredibly prophetic. You see, there was indeed a second person ("Bunkerboy") who responded by refuting the post. Interestingly enough, his response was censored. (I had read the response and it was harmless. I would love to hear them try to justify it's deletion.) "Two or less" indeed. LOL

You have the differences between the two forums pegged Jim. If Carlos can't see it, he's not paying attention.

You people who concentrate on the lunatic fringe are such simpletons. Of course there are loonies over there. Just like there are loonies here. It's called L-I-F-E. I hope most of the folks on both boards see the extremists for who and what they are, not like Y2k Pro who is obsessed with the lunatic fringe, to the point of sounding like an incredible broken record. Or do some (not all of you obviously, or I'd resemble some of your lunatic fringe here) of you have so little going on in your life that you've dedicated your lives to smearing others not in your group. Get a life people. Else I hope you're sentenced to purgatory with @, one of the EZBoard loonies.

I'll betcha' there's one subject that most of EZBoard and this forum will agree on. I posted it under "Road Shrines: Love 'em or Hate 'em," and almost everyone who posted disagreed with me. But, I'm not going to post it there just to find out.

Carlos-

An orgasm that goes on and on and on is known as a "total body orgasm".

It awakens the "kundalini" which is the evolutionary energy in man. This evolutionary energy is the biological basis of genius (and maddness). Either way it does awaken.

A hiccup will never wake those who sleep.

The difference between the two boards is that the energy of one wakes you up and the energy of the other encourages sleep.

;)

Debra-

The main difference between the two forums is that if you removed all the threads and posts that refer to the other forum, one of the forums would look like a decaying carcass and only necrophiliacs would be having orgasms there. We might rename it "Kundaloony Energy".

Gas-

Now that is one disgusting thought. Are you Hawk?

(Sorry Hawk if it's not you)

It's very curious that simply refering to a post at EZBoard is then labeled as smearing. On the lunatic fringe issue, at what point does a fringe become a majority? If there are 24 posts that support what is essentially a lunatic fringe idea and one (or two) that oppose it, does not the lunatic fringe become the lunatic majority?

I also saw the reference to the Bunkerboy post in that thread but evidently came in too late to see the actual post before it was deleted. I'd be very curious to know what he could have said that caused the deletion.

Of all the "strange" theories out there I think that chemtrails is the most pernicious. In order for this theory to be true, tens of thousands of people have to be engaged in an ongoing conspiracy. Hundreds of pilots, presumably military, have to be involved in spraying fellow citizens, possibly their own families, with poisons. Ait traffic controllers, ground crews, scientists, military personnel, aircraft manufacturers, and thousands of others must not only be involved in this conspiracy but not one of them has talked. This from a government that can't keep the President's blow job a secret. To believe in chemtrails indicates a depth of cynicism, paranoia, and total loss of faith in any goodness in America or Americans. It's scary.

Debra, you said,

"Gas-

Now that is one disgusting thought. Are you Hawk?

(Sorry Hawk if it's not you) "

Why are you apologizing to Hawk? You clearly believe he WOULD have a thought like Gas', and just because he didn't THIS time, I doubt your mind has changed on the matter.

Curiously,

Frank

Anyone who doesn't understand this, frankly my dear, should bunker themselves at Ezboard. There's a place for everyone on the internet.
