How Kind is your God?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

What does your God allow, how much is tolerated? Upon which historical writings is this based? What do you feel, in your heart, to be the true teachings of our God? Brothers and Sisters, together. What is the deal with some dot of color placed between the eyes, my Mid-East Sisters. It looks pretty. Although, my sisters here (me included) will pay sums of money to remove all flects from our faces. Freckles, a curse, upon our heritage, whatever that means. Here's to seeking a Sister.

Or, as Captain Kirk once said: "Excuse me, why does God need a star- ship?"

My sis paid a sum of money to get a tattoo. Oh God!

poll ?,

my god is not a god or a he...neither is yours..we all must pigeon hole our true understandings into a tiny culturaly biased and geographical centered belief system. Very few of us can come to a point where we feel the unknowable essence as it is; awsome and far reaching ("he" even has time to influence this board). If i might be so bold i think that the true teaching is something that we are born with and live in the shadow of , all our lives. The "grief" of being seperated from the whole is what drives us to do all the crazy things that we do.

to use your example: "What is the deal with some dot of color placed between the eyes, my Mid-East Sisters. It looks pretty. Although, my sisters here (me included) will pay sums of money to remove all flects from our faces. Freckles, a curse, upon our heritage, whatever that means. Here's to seeking a Sister"

only with the power of the great spirit can we see thru our differences and recoginize that we are seperated from the knowledge that might help us understand a way out of a situation like this. only thru communion with the spirit can we lift our feeble minds out of confusion.

Poll?,

my god is not a god or a he...neither is yours..we all must pigeon hole our true understandings into a tiny culturaly biased and geographical centered belief system. (our 'self' is not strong enough to handle the truth) Very few of us can come to a point where we feel the unknowable essence as it is; awsome and far reaching ("he" even has time to influence this board). If I might be so bold I think that the true teaching is something that we are born with and live in the shadow of, all our lives. But some how we are driven away from the teachings by our enviroment. The "grief" of being separated from the whole (compassion) is what drives us to do all the crazy things that we do.

To use your example: "What is the deal with some dot of color placed between the eyes, my Mid-East Sisters. It looks pretty. Although, my sisters here (me included) will pay sums of money to remove all flecks from our faces. Freckles, a curse, upon our heritage, whatever that means. Here's to seeking a Sister.

Only with the power of the Great Spirit can we see through our differences and recognize that we are separated from the knowledge that might help us understand a way out of a situation like this. Only through communion with the spirit can we lift our feeble minds out of confusion, only thru compassion can we elevate our egos above ignorance (suffering.

(Sorry hit the wrong button...SYSOPS! please delete my previous thread)

It is beyond our finite minds to see (without assistance) all the many ways that the spirit expresses itself here on this planet. And that is just here on this planet. We see things one way and one way only, so shouldn't god follow suit? Well maybe we should follow suit.

As for historical writings, over the last 10,000 years people have been writing about the ways that the spirit has moved them. I personally must look at all of them and let the diversity resonate in my present persona.

Look to the inside and the lotus of the outside will unfold.

This earth has become forrested with the trees of religions. Each man must climb his own tree.

Love is the key. Love oneself, love all others.

-- Richard (Astral-Acres@webtv.net), April 09, 2000.

my god is as kind as myself.

-- (climbing@my.tree), April 09, 2000.

I am with Richard. THe love of my God is completely unconditional. We spend our whole lives judging one another when not a one of us knows why another is here and what they have to accomplish.

As I have said on other threads, when you understand that Hitler is in "heaven" you will understand the love of God. THAT is how kind my god is.
