I don't know why this just arrived in my mailbox, a bit overdue, but certainly in keeping with the prevailing opinions here!

Please send as far and wide as possible.

Y2K Was DOA (And the Messiah Didn't Show Either.) William Cooper (hott@cybertrails.com

Y2K was DOA exactly as I warned. I bet the Y2K fear mongering con-jobbers are already designing another huge scheme to get right back into your pockets. Wonder what it will be? After all, they made billions off Y2K, and you don't seriously think they'll give up the golden goose, do you?

I bet the sheople will still listen to, and again follow, the same old con-artists that ripped them off with the "date bug". In fact a new axiom may be emerging: Lies make money. It seems that the more lies these doomsayers told the richer they got, while those who told the truth were persecuted.

P.T. Barnum was correct when he said, "There's a sucker born every minute". Hitler was right when he said, "The bigger the lie, and the more often it's repeated, the more readily it's believed," or something to that effect.

As a nation we seem to have lost the ability of even the most simple thought process, Common sense has completely disappeared. I haven't heard anyone tell anybody to, "Use your common sense," since my old Grandmother died in the late 70s. Do we still have any?

I've also been saying for the last 7 years that the Messiah wouldn't be here either. Well he didn't show up. Wishful thinking all around.

Everybody seems to be looking for someone else to tell them what to do, to save them. Many expected the Messiah to appear Saturday, January 1, 2000, a messiah that isn't going to come... at least not in my lifetime. After all, no self respecting Messiah can ever answer a summons. What are People going to do now that he isn't here?

What will People say when I state with absolute certainty that he won't be here between now and January of next year, or the year after, or even the year after that. What will People say when I tell them that they don't deserve a Messiah... that I wouldn't wish them on the Messiah.

Please bear with me on this. I believe it is important. And don't think for a minute that you know where I am going. I think the conclusion may surprise you.

You see, People have a despicable habit of hurting terribly anyone who tries to help them... most certainly anyone who tries to tell them the truth. People hate the truth.

I have learned that no Messiah could ever tell us anything that we don't already know. It has all been said, or written, or both. We know right from wrong. There was nothing ever left untaught by all the Messiahs that have ever come and gone.

Jesus was the easiest to understand. We probably know him best. He had the simplest message. He had the answer; but it is ignored, especially by those who claim to follow him. People hate Jesus today, not because of what he taught, but because of what the Christian Church teaches. Because of those millions of People persecuted and murdered by the Church in his name. And because of the dogma and policies, the false teachings, of those who claim to follow him. He is again, as 2,000 years ago, falsely accused.

Jesus never taught that we should murder those who will not follow him. He never attempted to make anyone listen. He never turned anyone away. He never spoke the word, "race". He did not come to destroy the Law but to fulfill it, not to perpetuate the legitimacy of the Old Testament but to fulfill the Law, and fulfill it he did, read Mathew 12:1-13 and it will become clear that Jesus and every word spoken of his mouth is the Law, nothing that went before except that which he fulfilled.

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." Mathew 22:37-39 Please notice there is no qualification as to who or what a neighbour must be, we must simply love our neighbour unconditionally as we love ourselves.

He said, "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and, sister, and mother." Mathew 12:50 Whosoever includes everyone of every race, and of every nation. It is so clear; how can anyone have been turned to believe the corruption preached by the Pastor Butlers, and the Pete Peters of the world who claim that the parable of the "tares" refers to the white Israelites as the "good seed" versus the other races and mixed races as the "tares".

In Mathew 13:37 he says, "He answered and said unto them, he that soweth the good seed is the Son of man." And so, what is the good seed? Read Mathew 5:3-14. The answer is everywhere in the New Testament. "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it." Mathew 16:24,25 "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works." Mathew 16: 27 Also read Mathew 18:3-5. Read Mark 4:9-23 where he makes it clear that it is the "word" that is sowed and that the good seed are those who hear the word, receive it, and bring forth fruit some thirty fold. Also read Mark 9:36,37, 10:13-30, and 16:16, "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." And Luke 6:20-23.

Who are these People who are so easily led astray from the truth? Why do they listen to the deceivers when all they have to do is read the words of Jesus himself? Who destroyed their brains?

Read John 5:24. It says, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." And John 6:47, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." Note there is no qualification beyond hearing and believing... race is not an issue period end of subject.

Racism did not exist in the Pagan world... surprised? You shouldn't be; racism is a product of the Old Testament teaching that Israel is the chosen People of God. It is taught from almost every Christian pulpit, and most especially by those who expound Zionism, Christian Identity, and British Israelism. The Christian perversions profess to believe in the teachings of Jesus, that he was God in the flesh, that he spoke only the truth... but they deny his teachings, and his truth, fomenting lies in his name. Zionists rely on the Torah, the first five books of what Christians call the Old Testament.

Television evangelists, all of those that I have seen, preach a materialized and totally perverted version of the message that Jesus delivered. And the Crystal Cathedral dude that ripped off Norman Vincent Peale's "Power of Positive Thinking," changing it to, "Possibility Thinking," is a lightning strike just waiting to happen.

Not to mention fractured Christianity divided into tens of thousands of churches, sects, and dogmas all claiming to follow Jesus, and of course each claims that only "they" have the true Gospel. "And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect." Mark 13:21,22

"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Mathew 7:22,23

It is senseless for the greater number of misled so-called Christians, for they are not Christians at all, to anticipate his return. It is ludicrous to believe he will be able to save them for they can only save themselves by fulfilling the requirements Jesus set forth as stated in the New Testament. The truth is that they will not recognize him... nor he them. And so, on the first day of the new Millenium, it is clear that man hasn't learned a thing in the last 2,000 years. He can't think and he obviously can't read. So much for evolution.

Jesus was able to travel and teach for 3 years before he was crucified. If he returned today I don't think he would stay free long enough to see the sunset, and he most probably wouldn't live very long.

Flash, you quoted,

"Jesus was able to travel and teach for 3 years before he was crucified. If he returned today I don't think he would stay free long enough to see the sunset, and he most probably wouldn't live very long. "

Well, this is one misconception I can clear up. Jesus only had to die once for our sins. On his return the people who would murder him are going to see a far different side of him than last time, and likely it will be they that don't live very long.

Hoping I recognize him at his return :),

Frank

Flash: "lies made money", I was quilty of spreading lies, my pockets remain empty. Although I do have a healthy store of candles and Spam. You said "Common Sense disappeared". What do you mean? That bad things never, ever happen to good people? Guess you didn't see the tv real life about two different families whose husbands lost their long time, good paying factory jobs. It wasn't pretty. It wasn't "Happily Ever After". It was a real story of the primary money maker going from $20.00 an hour, to unemployed for a year. Then, to make $11.00 an hour, and they were grateful. It wasn't fake, I saw the truth in the misery of their eyes. Just like I saw the misery in the eyes of the humans from Kosovo, while I sat in the comfort of my nice, warm, food filled house.

Why do you accuse anyone of awaiting the Messiah on 01 Jan, or any other time? How do you know what is in their hearts? Do you think anyone who thinks differently than you is automatically a member of the "Kool Aid" club? If it makes you feel any better for us human/citizens, I didn't ask anyone else (human) what to do. I did something, I live with it,without regret. I did not beg and whine of my local Red Cross, or any other any other human.

I quake with your arrogance when you guarantee the Messiah won't be here between now and Jan of next year. Want to make any predictions of your continued skin life, or those of your family for the same time frame?

I agree with you on the false teaching. But how to decide which ones are false? Which ones are truth? I believe God does not live in a Church building. He lives in us, if we will listen. Maybe the Y2K, was just a test, for obedience.

Frank and Remedial,

Please forgive me for the confusion. Except for the top sentence, which I wrote, and the "Please send as far and wide as possible. Thanks" which are by Robert Sterling, the rest of the words are William Cooper's. I wasn't expressing an opinion at the time I posted, but rather did so for the sake of discussion.

As I mentioned, the article just showed up in my mailbox today, and since things were a little slow around here posting-wise, I thought I'd toss it out to stimulate a little discourse. Having done so, I guess maybe I should accept some responsibility and participate, so I'll reread it and offer my 2 cents worth!

The first few paragraphs sound like our old friend Stephen Poole, CET. But it couldn't be, this guy can'e even spell "sheople." Just another confused bible thumper if you ask me... <:)=

After all, they made billions off Y2K, and you don't seriously think they'll give up the golden goose, do you?

Billions? The guy is obviously talking about a lot more than Gary North, Ed Yourdon or Michael Hyatt. I guess he's one of those people who thinks the notion that Y2K is something that had to be fixed was a myth.

My take on Cooper is that he is most likely a "nut". He has written about UFOs and the NWO for a long time. I didn't realize that he considers himself a Christian, too, and worthy of preaching to the rest of us about that.

Frank, I am a Christian and agree that Jesus Christ will return when he is good and ready, and that it won't matter what people like Cooper think. I agree that His return this time will be different. The problem is/will be with all the false messiahs who are/will be showing up first. Sometimes I wish He'd hurry up, although I'm not excited about enduring the tribulations. On the other hand, maybe we are already in them now. If so, which Trumpet or Seal do you think is currently active?

More Later...

We will get the last laugh when y2k strikes on Jan 1, 2001. Carlos, little Chuck 'Da Night Driver, Sysman, and I will be dancin in the streets.

-- Beanbag (need@some.beano), April 08, 2000.

Here's MY take on it, Flash:

The author [while exaggerating] is pointing out that the Christian community was led to believe that Y2k [the computer glitch] would create disasters. I didn't follow the offerings to the Christian community closely, but Michael Hyatt, Chuck Missler, Don McAlvaney, Gary North, David Icke, and several others specifically targeted the Christian community. The author apparently warned the Christian community that they should think twice before believing the words of these "false prophets." [I don't know this to be true, but he seems to imply that he'd said it wouldn't be such a big deal while others were stating that it WOULD.] In addition, he seems to imply that some were stating that rapture would occur in the year 2000. [I don't know who those folks might be, but (as I said), I didn't closely follow the offerings to the Christian community.] I DO know that I have an internet friend who met several folks at a community preparedness seminar who felt they had no need to prepare for Y2k [the computer glitch] because they felt the rapture would occur at this time.

The author then goes on to discuss racism, etc., again, [I think] to express his distaste for the messages spewed by some Christian "leaders". He's asking people WHY they would believe the interpretation of the Holy Bible expressed by SOME evangelists [further targeting the TV evangelists], where one could clearly see that Jesus never meant his words to be interpreted thus. He's suggesting that folks are looking to someone else for guidance rather than using the words of Jesus HIMSELF as a guide.

That's MY take on it, Flash...worth the money you paid for it.

William Cooper wrote

"Jesus was the easiest to understand. We probably know him best. He had the simplest message. He had the answer; but it is ignored, especially by those who claim to follow him. People hate Jesus today, not because of what he taught, but because of what the Christian Church teaches" and

"It is ludicrous to believe he will be able to save them for they can only save themselves by fulfilling the requirements Jesus set forth as stated in the New Testament. The truth is that they will not recognize him... nor he them. " Chapter and verse please??

This guy is an idiot. I got saved by trusting in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ to atone for my sins. My redemption is completed and secure because of what Jesus did on the cross.

They hate Christians but not Christ? Grow up Mr. Cooper, get out of Matthew, and read your Bible. Jesus preached the most divisive message on earth, that He and He alone was the way, the truth and the life. This unity & love crap most evangelicals spew about is out of the pit, not of Christ. Jesus said in [Luke 12:51] "Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:" How about hating Jesus Christ? John 15:18 says "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.", and John 15:24 "If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father."

Check out the hate speech of 2 Thess 1:8 8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. Did you get that? All who reject Jesus Christ get to enjoy eternity in a flaming hell.

Check out how God laughs at those who reject Him. Psalms 2:1 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Prov 1: 24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

How about Isaiah 63:3? I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

How about this? In Jude, the theme is apostasy. Its the last book before Revelation. Right before youve got come up hither, youve got apostasy. After Revelation 3:19, there is no more love. It is wrath (5 times) and the dragon.

Got to hand it to Y2K was DOA. He nailed that one on the DOA part. Scripturally, this guy can't rightly divide the word of truth. Was it DOA because of all the $$$ frantically thrown at it? Alarmists and doomers alike saw the chance of a threat and chose to take action on their part to lessen the impact to their lives.

Having food, emergency shelter, and water set for troubled times may be a throwback to yesteryear, but it is still sound practice.

Stay with your Bible Flash. The doctrine posted in your article is unsound.

Flash,

I don't think we're in the Book of Revelations yet. My belief is that God doesn't really HIDE anything from those who look for it, and if the end days were here, I think many faithful people would recognize it as plain as day. And obviously I hope I'm not wrong in this :-)

Also, my belief in God is based on the fact that God loves us as his children, I suppose even in a much fuller way than I love my own (children). If that's the case then I think that when the time comes those people who look forward to seeing Him, (even if afraid of DOING so at the time) will be well received.
