"The Peace of Wild Things" revisited

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

It hit me today that two of the story lines from "The Peace of Wild Things" (first shown in November) have returned to have an impact on Carter's life. That's the epi where we first saw Mrs. Connelly and also Eddie Bernero, the 12-year-old diabetes patient. With the exception of recurring characters such as Meg, I don't remember there ever being an epi that has had such an impact on future epis: "Be Still My Heart" and "Viable Options." I was wondering if there are other epis that have...and also does anyone else have any comments regarding this. I liked having some closure from "The Peace of Wild Things" or at least additional information about the patients, which we don't often get (and I know that's what happens with a real ER).

Looks like Carter had temporary amnesia at that time because he didn't remeber both of those patients when they came back. I can totally understand why he wouldn't remember, though.

I think Carter did remember Eddie, because he looked a little like he was trying to cover up when Cleo was talking to him about it. But, even if he didn't remember then, he eventually remembered full force. He even blatantly lied to Mark and said he just made a mis- diagnosis. I think this is to continue to show how Carter has changed since the stabbing.

He definately remebered Eddie, because later, he was seen arguing with Mr. Bernerro outside the PICU saying "We had a deal, Mr. Bernerro..."
