polaroid prints and mounting tissue

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Large format photography : One Thread

I must mount/mat several polaroid type 56 (sepia) prints for an upcoming exhibit. I have never used original polaroids in this way before, and I don't know if the material will stand the temperature of the traditional dry mount press. I have no extras with which to experiment so I have to be as careful as I can the first time. Has anyone experience with polaroid and the use of mounting tissue--Seal MT 5+?

Thanks,

Bob

If you have to dry mount them, try Scotch PMA (Positionable Mounting Adhesive). It is a cold mount adhesive. It is "archival" per light impressions.

You might consider a float mount or using mounting corners instead, so as not to permanently mount the polaroids.
