Blast Rocks Moscow Physics Institute Says Itar-Tass

MOSCOW, Apr 6, 2000 -- (Reuters) A blast rocked the building of the Institute of General Physics in Moscow early on Thursday but there were no immediate reports of injuries, Itar-Tass news agency reported.

It quoted a spokesman at the emergencies directorate as saying the blast at 1:50 a.m. (2150 GMT) caused damage in the five-store building and shattered glass in several houses nearby. Moscow emergency services were at the scene, the agency added.
