This BBS is one month old today

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I just noticed on the Statistics Page that this BBS is one month old today - it seems much longer than that since SS Communicata took the terminal dive.

We've managed 3,660 posts in that short time - equivalent to around 120 posts per day. Given the panic we were in 31 days ago that all seems fairly remarkable, and reminds us how much we owe to Duncan for 'taking charge' and doing something positive at short notice to keep us all together. We've already had some cracking debates on our new home.

Many, many thanks Duncan - it's not perfect, but it's not bad either!

Good observation! Thanks Dunc, and hope we see you at Evergreen's or the Post Office. I don't think you'll need to worry about going thirsty. :-)

I've deleted most of the other optional message boards from my site and have put a few more links towards this site from . hopefully we can still get a some fresh contributors to keep this place alive and enable it to expand.

I'm enjoying this new site although, something is missing; no clean (or even dirty!) slanging matches / wind - ups!

Where's L.R. / D.D.? I know they've been on, but not so often! ;-)

Duncan, Thanx mate, no matter what else you do in your life, you by your swift actions, not words , has made a lot of Geordie lads and lasses a lot happier in keeping our little club afloat. On another posting by McBeth it comes to notice that you bid for a while down Duckpool Lane, I left the back Orchard in 81, lived in between the Pattersons and the Boyds and Alistair was across from me, (the coat hanger surgeon on that aircraft flight). Eldest laddie Mark was 17 at the time and palled about with Graham Spearman for a while (chemists), Neil was 10+ and spent a lot of time at the Catholic School getting up to no good. Sarah was 6, I have no idea what your age is or was at that time, I managed the Highwayman Football Team, the four Cavanagh bros all played for me at the time, name Fairley rings a bell. Got that feeling I may know your Dad. Bill
